Set on five acres of land, the mill's ground floor can be used as an indoor ceremony place, and upstairs, you will find a stunning second floor reception area and bedroom suites. Originally a cow and poultry farm, the previous owners had run the property as a winery before Rick purchased it in May of 2017. After seeing the property, its luscious landscape, and the rustic charm of the original buildings, Rick had a vision. He saw the property transformed into a modern, chic space that maintained the history and character of the original farm. More importantly, he imagined bringing others’ visions to life with a beautiful and unique setting for weddings and private events.

We are an urban winery located in “the Union Collective” building, an old Sears distribution facility with warehouse/industrial vibes and several other businesses. We are casual and a bit rustic, but our wine, vermouth and tapas all made in house is superb and refined.

Construction on Powerhouse began in 1915 as part of an expansion project by the D.C. Paper Manufacturing Company. In 1917, the building began operating as a power plant for the paper company. Just a few short years later in 1919, Capitol Traction Company purchased Powerhouse to use as trolley car storage until 1932. In more recent years, Powerhouse has been used for event and office space. Today, the iconic smokestack still stands 150 feet above the building, symbolizing its towering impact on the history and culture of Georgetown.

The Wharf Dockmaster Building is located at the end of District Pier and your rental includes the space on the pier around it. You have wrap around balconies and 270 degree views of the river and boats, plus the Washington Monument. Your rental gives you the building for the day so you can do any advance decorating, load in etc. It is unfurnished space – typically your caterer will coordinate tables, chairs etc. and help you design the look you want. Our inside capacity is typically 100 seated dinner style or 140-150 standing cocktail style.
