Justin holds a Doctor of Musical Arts (D.M.A.) in Saxophone Performance and a Master of Music (M.M) in Jazz Studies from the University of North Texas. As an active musician, he leads The Justin Pierce Jazz Group, which performs regularly in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex.

For 17 years now the award winning recipe for The Texas Gypsies sound is to perform the “Vintage Jazzy Swingin" cool hep cat sounds of the Great Gatsby era 1920's, plus a mix of the Big Band Swing sound of the 1930's and 40’s, add in a taste of its sister sound, Western Swing, sprinkle some Django style Gypsy Jazz over the top and finally finish up with a pinch of Retro Deco Rockin Roll! The band mixes passionate violin, a blazing horn section, rockin-swingin guitars, slappin upright bass, and retro style drumming to harmoniously create their own unique, classy and fun sound!

Unfaded Brass Band is comprised of 10 members from New Orleans and surrounding areas that have assembled together to incorporate elements of hip-hop, jazz, soul, and pop music and added the brass band framework to it. . The band has members from Mississippi, but most were born and raised in New Orleans. After being displaced by Hurricane Katrina in 2005, members of the band fled to Dallas and planted their roots within the city. In 2014, our founder, Jermaine Devezin saw the need to bring the brass band culture to the Dallas area based on the growing number of fellow New Orleanians who along with the band now calls Dallas home. sband/
