When I was shopping around, I talked to a lot of really amazing and talented florists, but Dana stood out because of her drive, professionalism, and her understanding of my vision. Of note, I was between DM Events and one other vendor for my florals (he was recommended by my venue) and when I had one of my calls with him, I was quoted almost three times the price that Dana had quoted me. When I mentioned that, this vendor told me that "if I could get it for less, go with the other vendor." He genuinely didn't believe that I could have gotten what I was looking for at a lower price point. My flower delivery the day of was timely, professional, and once again, totally seamless. The flowers were absolutely gorgeous, and many of my guests commented about how beautiful they were. One of my bridesmaids works in the wedding industry and was totally blown away by how gorgeous they were. “Jessica and her team truly made my wedding magical. Sustainability and ethical sourcing were a priority for us and Jessica provided all US grown flowers. She even sourced vegetables from local farmers to use in the tablescapes that we and our guests took home and has meals made from them for the next couple of weeks! But the real magic was the colors she picked out. I wanted a very colorful, jewel toned world at my wedding and Jessica found flowers that both matched that aesthetic and complimented the whole medieval vibe of the theme. Her team also showed amazing flexibility when our ceremony location was changed at the last minute due to rain. Instead of decorating an archway they were decorating a completely different space with pillars, but they made it work and everything was ready on time. I’ve loved Jessica’s work so much that I’ve gone on to order flowers for other occasions. She did the flowers for my daughter’s first birthday which was Enchanted Forest themed and most recently my husband picked up a Valentine’s Day arrangement from her shop. Luckily, she had availability and a few hours later, I was taking an impromptu day trip to Cold Spring with my husband. Jackie met us at the station and was so incredibly kind. She gave us a few suggestions of eateries to check out while we were in town. We had a symbolic ceremony a week later and I was so pleased with the service received with my first bouquet, that I asked Jackie to preserve that bouquet as well. Throughout both bouquet preservations, Jackie was very responsive and answered any questions I had. In 2016, I started looking for creative alternatives to fresh flowers. I saw an advertisement for WOOD flower arrangements and was intrigued. I quickly ordered a centerpiece and when it arrived, I was so amazed by the product that I took the flowers apart to see how they were made. It was fascinating to me that someone would think to use the wood from a plant to make flowers. Fast forward a couple months and I started ordering raw undyed flowers, dove in headfirst, and fell in love! By using WOOD flowers, we are able to custom dye & arrange them to give a bride more versatility. I am so honored to be a small part of a bride’s special day!

Helianthus and Lace is a wedding and event floral design business serving the deeply in love. Helianthus is the Latin term for sunflower and comes from the root Helio and Greek Helios, meaning Sun. As sunflowers are growing and beginning to bloom, they turn their heads towards the sun. I find this to be a great analogy for life - always look on the bright side. “Working with Helianthus and Lace was one of the best decisions I made for my wedding. I love flowers, and I knew I wanted them to be a big part of our day, but it was also very important to me that I could source florals as sustainably as possible. As soon as I met Amanda, I could see her passion for creating beautiful designs with local blooms, and bringing visions to life. I could tell off the bat that she cares deeply about the couples she works with, and her thorough questions made me confident that she would execute my vision perfectly. Amanda had clear communication throughout our time working together and was quick to answer emails whenever I had a question. One thing I also loved was her invoicing system- she sent over one link to the invoice which would automatically update whenever we made changes. It’s a small detail, but it was incredibly helpful to know that I was always looking at the most updated version of our invoice (not digging through my emails and searching through multiple attachments) to keep track of costs. On the day, I nearly cried when I saw my bouquet it was so beautiful. Due to the weather, there was some back and forth figuring out where our ceremony would be held. Amanda worked with our coordinator and venue staff and came up with great solutions to repurpose the flowers for the outdoor ceremony site. I really appreciated her flexibility and ability to think on her feet to make the indoor space feel just as magical. Her work really elevated the room and gave the exact vibe that I was hoping for. So many of our guests raved and said they’d never seen flowers like ours at a wedding. I cannot recommend enough working with Amanda for your wedding. She really puts her heart and soul into her work, and feels like a friend through the planning process. If I had to do it again I’d choose her every time!!”

Since then, we have done several weddings, even was hired by the football hall of fame in Canton Ohio in August 2023.
