DJ PrayzHim is amazing, and was absolutely perfect for our wedding! Andrew was a great communicator, was clear and upfront about everything, and was super easy and fun to work with. He did a superb job managing the flow of the reception, and kept our guests entertained and the night running smoothly. I cannot count how many times we were complimented about our DJ--everybody loved him! Andrew is a natural, funny, charismatic entertainer :) The wedding games we played were very enjoyable, for my bride and I as well as our guests. It was also comforting not having to worry about crude language in the songs or awkward questions during the Shoe Game--Andrew keeps everything family-friendly! Overall, we would highly recommend DJ PrayzHim for your next event, and especially for weddings!!!

  • Serves Batavia, IA

A unique photography and videography duo that just want to capture your best day ever. Based out of Iowa, Foxtail Films isn't afraid to travel! We have experience from California to Florida and just about everything in between.

Valerie was amazing to work with, she is easygoing, kind, and incredibly helpful every step of the way. From the very beginning, she provided us with a clear and organized timeline, creative picture ideas, and constant support, always making herself available to answer any questions we had. She was very prompt in responding, which made the entire planning process feel smooth and stress-free. On our wedding day, Valerie and Kevin went above and beyond helping both inside and outside the venue, seamlessly moving between my husband and me to make sure we each had everything we needed. Their teamwork and attentiveness truly stood out, and they made the entire experience even more enjoyable. When we received our photos and video, I was completely blown away as they captured every emotion, detail, and special moment more beautifully than I could have ever imagined. I am still in awe every time I look at them, and I’ll forever be grateful for the memories they preserved so perfectly.

Venue considerations

  • No dedicated areas for getting ready
  • No built-in audiovisual options
  • On-site parking not available
The Continental Hotel is always one of my first recommendations for friends and family visiting Appanoose County, but my main point of this review is to share how great it is for couples getting married in our around Centerville to utilize. We booked a two bedroom suite for our bridal party to get ready in for our November wedding-- we were getting married down the street at The Majestic Theater. The suite was beautifully kept, well stocked and so much bigger than you'd think they would be. There was a time that probably 15 people were in the room and it didn't feel overwhelming or crammed. Our hairstylist & makeup artist also noted that there was great natural light for helping us get ready, something they usually don't see in hotels. Their staff is incredibly friendly, knowledgable and helpful. They also allowed us to order snacks from the restaurant that were delivered right up to our room in more sharing-friendly formats (Ex: smaller croissants for chicken salad sandwiches) Bonus Points: Their gorgeous bar is a great place for groomsmen photos!

Cater 2U2

  • Caterer
  • Starts at $3,000
  • Serves Batavia, IA

Cater 2U2 is a family-owned catering business specializing in weddings and large events. We offer a wide range of menu options and appetizers for your special day. Additionally, we offer various rental services such as pipe & drape, ice cream machines, table & chairs, and slushy machines. Please view our website or contact us for menu options.

We hired Cater2U2 to cater appetizers, desserts and 525 dinner meals for our wedding reception. Communication before the event was great - quick responses and patience with our many questions! The day-of team was amazing - set up, food service, breakdown and cleanup was done efficiently in the background. Cater2U2 served warm pretzels with cheese and pasta salad cup appetizers, and then a phenomenal dinner buffet with salad, corn, roasted carrots, fruit salad, roast beef and fried chicken. The staff helped buffet lines move smoothly and our entire guest list was served very quickly. For dessert, Cater2U2 provided a variety of pies and soft serve ice cream. They also provided bartending services. We’re a month out from our reception, and are still hearing great things about the food served from our guests. We 11/10 would recommend the food, staff and service at Cater2U2!!

Electric Entertainment

A 10 year veteran to the Wedding industry, Electric Entertainment stands out as a premium vendor across the midwest. Our team of professionally trained DJs are here every step of the way from planning to execution to deliver a true experience for your guests. We perform. We entertain. We execute your vision.

Megan and Logan were great to work with in the early stages, and then Ali & Drake took over about a month before! They all were fantastic to work with and I could definitely tell that Ali & Drake were the best match for my wedding. I wasn't sure what to think about booking a company that matches a DJ to your wedding after booking, but they really did take the time to find what music style I liked and which DJ was going to vibe the best. Highly recommend!!!! The entire planning process was so easy with them and the online portal was so simple to use! They truly made my day exceptional!

We are the Webers! We like long walks in the desert, dogs, and tacos. We met in high school, dated for several years, and decided to take it to the next level and got married in October of 2020. Kevin is chill and one of the kindest humans and Val is outgoing and fun. We balance each other well! We have two labs, Onni and Stella. We got into photography and videography by just playing around with cameras. One day we just decided it would be a blast to make a career of it! Kevin loves creating for hunting articles and videos and Val loves weddings and maternity sessions!

WE LOVED WORKING WITH FOXTAIL FILMS! Val and Kevin were professional, knowledgeable, flexible, and fun! They are reasonably priced and both the photos and videos were top quality!

Flower Moxie – Do-It-Yourself Wedding Flowers

In 2013, 8-year wedding veteran Amy McCord Jones realizes she wouldn't be able to afford to hire her own floral services if she was a bride. Then, Amy discovers that there is basically zero help available for DIY brides. No flower recipes. No instructions. No access to florist-grade blooms. Rude. So she launches Flower Moxie! Flower Moxie remains a humble, tucked-away small business out of Oklahoma City. We don’t zoom around on scooters in some fancy high-rise. We stock an average kitchen with canned wine and Aldi chips and listen to true crime podcasts while photographing curvy ranunculus. Join us. There’s cake, hugs, and acceptance here.

He had a true passion for his craft that shone through in every interaction. The quality of Alec's work was absolutely stunning - we got a wonderful variety of candids, formal shots, and editorial-style pictures that captured all the special moments of our day. Alec has an incredible eye for the right shots, and the final photos are absolutely gorgeous. Despite a complicated location schedule that I was worried about, Alec made the whole day seamless, traveling to over 4 different spots to ensure we got all the groupings and special shots we wanted. Alec truly went above and beyond, and we had such a great time working with him. I'm obsessed with the pictures and would give him an 11/10 rating!

I’m Edgar, an HTX-raised native with Salvadorian roots. I am the owner, creative director, and lead photographer at Anchor Studios Photography. I'm a wedding and elopement photographer based out of Pittsburgh, PA! However, the stories I capture don't start and end there. I love to travel to capture stories all around the world.

Edgar is the best! He was fun to be around and up for anything. He traveled hours to meet us and even went on a pretty buggy/muddy hike to capture the most incredible photos. We are both so awkward in front of a camera and he immediately made us comfortable - such an important skillset! We can't wait to see him again next June for our wedding, and have so much faith that he will hit it out of the park again!

Her communication was amazing, she answered all of my questions quickly. She made us feel very comfortable! Working with her and her fiance felt like we had all been friends already, we just clicked (haha). Side note: we got to help out two poor little stray kittens with them, so animal lovers always a plus in my book! I am madly in LOVE with the photos she took, they are absolutely perfect!!!! She was able to capture our dream come true and so much more!!! They are so beautiful!!! She was even able to finish the editing earlier then planned. I already talked it over with my husband, and we plan on hiring her again in the future! A five star rating does not do her justice, she was hands down the best!!!
