“At the end of my wedding, someone said to me, "most weddings are boring, yours was fun." This is because the Ocean City Yacht Club does such a SPECTACULAR job at helping you have the best day ever.
We held our ceremony in the tent to the side of the club, and it was beautiful. Afterwards, our guests congregated to the back deck where they enjoyed the unbelievable views of the Ocean City Bay as they sipped cocktails, enjoyed hors d'evours, and took photos on the water. Every family took their Christmas card photo because the backdrop of the bay in the early evening was so stunning.
After entrances/speeches, we sat down for dinner, and the food was incredible. The club prides itself on the catering by Nobil caterers, and it DOES NOT DISAPPOINT. It goes far beyond what anyone expects from a wedding venue. After a great meal, half of our guests went back outside to continue enjoying the sunset on the bay and the other half of the began the dancing inside. Everybody was having a great time.
Planning this wedding was a breeze because OCYC provided us with a list of vendors who all did a great job and knew the yacht club's timing, entrances, expectations, etc. Bill, who is the head chef AND somehow has the time to coordinate all of the weddings at the Yacht club, expertly explained what would and would not work to ensure that the day ran smoothly. An added bonus is that the yacht club allows the bridal party to get ready upstairs, which is a beautiful space with a porch that opens up to the water.
No one would ever guess this, but the Ocean City Yacht Club is a surprisingly budget-friendly venue. My parent's friends asked if we spent 100,000 on this wedding, and it was definitely no where close to that. This venue is BYOB (meaning you can hire bartenders and serve your guests liquor, but the yacht club does not specifically provide the alcohol). This cut costs down tremendously compared to other similar venues.
This wedding location is a hidden gem in Ocean City, and we had the perfect day!”
