I grew up in Omaha, Nebraska surrounded by weddings and events. My family owns an event venue there still. I took a detour and played professional golf for a number of years before A. Cakes was born in 2021. It was only fitting that I come full circle and work back in the wedding industry where my heart truly lies. I am in love with the process of learning, practicing and executing new and fun techniques on my clients’ cakes. More than that, creating a cake for someone’s special day gives me the most warm feeling. It’s truly why I do what I do.

So I rolled out a freezer and started scooping Thrifty ice cream right inside our family store. It was simple, fun, and full of nostalgia. We had actually dreamed of starting a mobile ice cream business even before then, 14 years ago!
