She approaches each session with a calm and collaborative energy that yields relaxed and natural photos. She was able to capture our day so authentically. Not only is she excellent on wedding day but she's responsive and organized leading up to it. She was diligent on creating and executing a shotlist and even added in some family portrait combinations that I missed on the first round. Her thoughtful process makes you feel like a priority and I knew my vision was safe in her hands. Her work is phenomenal and she's an absolute pleasure to work with.”

With a candid style and two decades of professional photography experience, my passion is capturing real moments and creating photos that tell your story. Living in the San Francisco Bay Area, I am proud to work in the diverse communities here, and welcome the diversity of my clients who are looking to both honor past family traditions as well as create some of their own. My approach to wedding photography is simple; the day of the wedding is about two people coming together to celebrate their marriage with their loved ones, and photos are about connection and trust. My goal is to have your photographs remind you of how you felt that day.

“Sonya was amazing, she photographed our engagement and our Indian wedding ceremony. Even without being totally familiar with the parts of the ceremony, she captured all the pivotal moments beautifully. she is very intuitive and made us feel very comfortable. We loved the slide show she put together with the photos from our day, and sent it to our families who watch it on repeat. We can't recommend her enough, she is not only artistic, but a really nice person which made it so much easier. She was also able to keep our rowdy families in-line for the group photos.”

I am an Oklahoma born, but Cali raised - dancer, roller skater, photography stylist, photographer, momma to two little girls, foodie, crafter, lover of laughter, action and pyscho-thriller movie watcher, and sports player. I also find peace in the outdoors and California trees. I like to keep it active and adventurous. I believe in giving 110% at everything I do, but also want it to be fun. I chose photography to be my vocation because I have a true obsession with humans and the way we love, interact, and celebrate rituals personal to our families and cultures. I stand up for equality and justice for BIPOC and LGBTTQQIAAP.

“Joy was so amazing from start to finish! We booked Joy and her team for our Engagement session and Wedding Day. She helped brainstorm ideas for the engagement shoot and made all our visions a reality with bomb photos of us featuring my husbands old school. As all brides know, the planning experience can be stressful and full of anxiety dealing with multiple vendors - but I never had that experience working with Joy. I 100% trusted her to capture our big day. I’ve heard stories from other brides about “I wish our photographer did this, was able to take photos of that..” but not with Joy! She communicated great leading up to and on the big day. Everywhere I looked Joy and her team was on the move capturing the best shots in the right spots. Our photos turned out amazing and we were so happy to have Joy there with us on such a memorable day. I highly recommend and trust Joy for any photo sessions, whether it’s family holiday shoots, grad photos, engagement sessions and wedding day! She is an absolute gem, so talented and pleasure to work with!”

Radostina (rhymes with “patina”) was born and raised in the coastal town of Varna, Bulgaria. After finishing her Master’s in Arts, she moved to the Czech Republic, where she began her career in graphic design, styling, and art direction. It was there, in the middle of her Czech adventure, that the passion for film photography was born. Now, an award-winning fine art wedding photographer, Radostina resides in San Francisco, with her husband Martin and their English bulldog, Fuji.

“We are so happy that we chose Radostina to capture our special moment. Everything was smooth and contributed to the overall experience - from the initial contact to photographing the event to delivering the stunning photos. Radostina's attention for detail is second to none and her taste is impeccable, she gave us great ideas before and during the event on how to capture every moment in a way that we can preserve our memories. The colors, the captured light and the emotions on the pictures are just mesmerizing, probably because it was captured on film. We'd love to have Radostina capture another special moment for us in the future.”

I'm Katherine, a wedding photographer based in Oakland, CA. With over a decade of experience and features in Vogue, Brides, The New York Times, and more, I know how to create wedding photos that don’t just look stunning — they feel like you. No trendy filters, no forced poses, just authentic moments that reflect who you are. I believe the best moments aren’t staged. They unfold naturally, in the quiet glances, the belly laughs, and those unspoken connections shared with your loved ones. My goal is to capture those raw, in-between moments that truly make your wedding day yours!

Awarded Best of Zola
“This review is long overdue. Working with Katherine was, without question, one of the best decisions we made for our City Hall wedding in May 2025. Months of Instagram research led me to Katherine. I started following her work before I was even engaged. She is phenomenal at what she does. From our very first interaction, her communication was exceptional. Katherine is prompt, thoughtful, and genuinely attentive. She took the time to truly understand our vision, ensuring every image beautifully reflected the aesthetic and overall tone we hoped for. Beyond her remarkable talent behind the camera, Katherine was an invaluable presence throughout the planning process. She went above and beyond to help us develop a clear, well-organized schedule, which made our wedding day feel effortless and seamless, which she absolutely did not need to do (I still appreciate you so much for this Katherine). Her calm, confident guidance kept everything on track and allowed us to fully relax and enjoy the moment, knowing we were in capable hands. What truly sets Katherine apart is her warmth and presence. She has an incredible ability to make people feel comfortable and at ease, and our friends and family immediately felt that. My mother-in-law continues to remark on how much she loves Katherine and how wonderful she was at our wedding. Katherine blended naturally into the celebration while still providing gentle direction, managing group photos with efficiency and grace so that everyone felt seen and comfortable. When we received our gallery, we were absolutely blown away. Katherine has a rare eye for capturing intimate, emotional moments, many of which we didn’t even realize were unfolding at the time. There is a specific image she captured of my husband laughing while his grandfather is speaking during our ceremony; we could not figure out when it happened. It was not until we watched the video of our ceremony did we see it happen. It was a split second reaction and Katherine captured it beautifully. We asked that our wedding photos feel like an inside-joke but anyone looking in still feels like they are in on the joke and that is what she delivered. The photos are not just beautiful images; they are meaningful, timeless memories captured with care, intention, and artistry. There is just something so special about Katherine's work; she perfectly encapsulates every emotion in a photo. Seven months later, I'm still in awe. We are deeply grateful to Katherine for capturing our wedding so perfectly. If you are looking for a photographer who is highly organized, incredibly talented, and a true joy to work with, we cannot recommend her highly enough. Thank you a thousand times again Katherine! All our gratitude, M & S”

He's not just a wedding photographer, he's a true artist and his professional work is simply perfect. He knew exactly where to shoot and how to use the lighting to capture all the best moments. One of my favorite things about our wedding was getting to know Thomas and seeing his magical work in real time. He's also so good at improvising at time of stress and I honestly don't know how he does it. The number one compliment we kept getting from our guests/family was how amazing our photographer was - so many people raved about him and he was easily our favorite vendor. I’m Cherlyn (rhymes with Berlin). So nice to e-meet you! If we met in person and it wasn’t during a pandemic- I would probably hug you! I’m an introvert-extrovert and tend to ramble too much when I get nervous. In emails - I tend to use exclamation points a lot!! (and will agonize over my drafts of emails before sending them because they probably have one too many!!) My aim as your photographer is to provide a memorable experience where you two feel comfortable, taken care of, and get to fully enjoy your wedding day as much as possible with all your guests & loved ones - whether they be in real life or via livestream!

Awarded Best of Zola
“Cherlyn was a dream photographer for my small Santa Clara wedding held at the newly renovated chapel at the clerk-recorder's office. She had experience photographing there before, which was a major reason why I picked her to document my special day, in addition to her documentary-style photography which suited my shy spouse. I wanted someone who would be able to take formal photographs in addition to candids for the courthouse wedding and Chinese dinner to follow, and she more than understood the assignment. She took the time to scope out scenic areas near the office and even stayed for the dinner afterwards. She was a wonderful conversationalist and helped everyone feel at ease. I really treasure all the moments she was able to capture for us.”

I believe love is love and happily photograph couples of all backgrounds, orientations, religions and gender expressions. I aim to create authentic and emotive images for my clients and edit true to color so the work will be timeless. My personality is friendly and warm, which helps make my couples feel at ease and open up in front of the camera. I donate $100 from every wedding day package to a non profit organization (either the ACLU, End the Backlog or the Triple Negative Breast Cancer Foundation) because I believe paying it forward in honor of love is an excellent first step into marriage.

Awarded Best of Zola
“Jenna was recommended to us by another photographer and it was such a pleasure to work with her! We greatly appreciated how much she wanted to know us and our personalities in advance of our wedding day. We ended every zoom call or email exchange feeling confident in our decision to work with her. The weather on our wedding day wasn’t very cooperative, but Jenna and team were on the lookout for any break in the rain so that we could go up to the roof and get a few pictures. And she totally nailed them—they are some of our favorite pictures from the day. Jenna and team made everyone feel comfortable in front of the camera and also captured some incredible candids. If you’re looking for a fun, positive, and easy-to-work with photographer—Jenna is the right pick!”

Hey, I'm Marisa! I work with couples to help capture their dream wedding day! Most days you can find me drinking coffee in front of my computer editing the day away. If I’m not home in the SF Bay Area, I’m most likely in the Sierras or at a session off the grid. In my free time you can find me drinking wine with friends, maybe on a run, laying around with my dog, near a lake or finding the best tacos.

“We could not imagine working with any other photographer for our wedding! From our first video meeting to touch base, to our engagement shoot, and ultimately our wedding day, Marisa collaborated with us and other vendors with so much grace and a great sense of humor. She communicates clearly and punctually. We were particularly impressed with how she was able to wrangle our large families and get group photos together with confidence, but also captured the small, intimate moments so perfectly. We will forever cherish the photos that perfectly encapsulate the best day of our lives. Thank you so much, Marisa!”

My name is Maddie Smidebush and I'm a photographer based in Brentwood, California and I believe in capturing the beauty of love through every lens. I've been a photographer for over 7 years and shooting weddings full time for 5. I specialize in weddings, engagements and elopements with a focus on natural, candid moments that reflect the true essence of your day. While working at a wedding photography studio for the past 3 years I've been able to acquire a careers worth of experience through the shooting of over 300 weddings in that time.

“Moments By Madz was a fantastic choice for our wedding photography. From the start, Maddie provided clear and thorough communication via email and phone, ensuring we felt informed and prepared. Her work quality was truly excellent, and we felt we received great value for the reasonable price. On the day of our wedding, Maddie was incredibly flexible, easily adjusting her schedule as needed. She was also warm, kind, and helped make our day feel even more special. We're so thankful we found Maddie - she truly captured the essence of our wedding and we couldn't be happier with the beautiful photos that will help us cherish the memories forever.”

Photography lives in the present and life is fast and fleeting. We want to remember what life we do have while we're here, evolving and growing. That’s why we’re always taking selfies, right? Like, I was here! Weddings are an emotional experience, a record of moments, journeys, visions and feelings, expressed in millions of unique byproducts. I'm the storyteller who gets the privilege of recording all of it coming together on one amazing, beautiful day.

“I absolutely love working with Megan! Megan is a professional who is a joy to work with-reliable, talented, and fun. I have used her work to support social media for my small business, as well as for personal requests, such as real estate listing photos, family photos, and flower photography. The beautiful images are easy to transfer to different software programs. The crisp definition captured in the photographs displays flawlessly in print. Megan is multifaceted and a total asset to any photography project.”
