About Wieters Film Co.

Wieters Film Co.

Documentary Wedding Videographers | MD, PA, WV & DE

Wieters Film Co. makes documentary wedding films for couples who want to experience the day—not perform for it. Based in Abingdon, Maryland, we work calmly and unobtrusively, paying attention to the voices, reactions, atmosphere, and little bits of chaos that make a wedding yours. No forced moments. No turning the day into a production set. Every collection includes an original composition, with options ranging from a social-first vertical film to a 10+ minute story film. Collections begin at $2,400.

Every frame is yours. We include all raw footage in every collection—not as an upsell, but because it is your day. We also create an original song for every couple, shaped by the voices, energy, and emotion we document. We work quietly, without forced moments or turning your wedding into a production set. The result feels lived-in, specific, and unmistakably yours—beautiful enough to revisit and honest enough to recognize yourselves in it.

Hey all! For those who are getting married and need a videographer, I have the man for you, and his name is Matt! Matt is such an amazing videographer! The sneak peak video he sent my husband and I, we couldn’t stop watching it. That’s how amazing of a videographer he is. He is definitely worth the money. His time and effort gave us amazing results and this just for the sneak peak! If this result is that amazing, we can’t wait to see our final video. Seriously, he is the man to work with when in need of a videographer

It was an absolute pleasure to work with Matt!! We recently met a few weeks ago for a wedding at our venue, and he was truly wonderful to have throughout the day. He was professional, respectful, and so easy to work with. His creativity and eye for detail really stood out, and he captured some amazing shots of our golf course that we loved. We always appreciate vendors who are communicative, considerate, and genuinely passionate about their work, and Matt checks all of those boxes. We’d be happy to have him back anytime and will definitely be recommending him to any of our couples looking for a talented videographer!!

Matt was amazing to work with! Pays so much attention to detail and is great to be around, I could go on about what it’s like working with him, but what’s even more important is how great his work is!

Matt is great to work with, I personally have worked many weddings as a photographer along side of Matt being the videographer. He truly takes pride in what he does and is so easy to work with. He does amazing work, you definitely won’t be disappointed when booking with him!

Wieters Film Co. provided us with a beautifully done capture of our wedding day! The process was simple and our concerns and ideas were taken into consideration. Matthew was uplifting, encouraging, and caring about our experience. We really enjoyed our video and loved how it was put together!

Most of our couples book 6 to 18 months out, and peak Saturdays in September, October, and May tend to go first. That said, we hold a small number of dates open later in the year, so it is always worth asking. We only take one wedding per day. Whoever books the date has it, and we never double-book or send a substitute crew.
Yes. We carry $2 million in general liability coverage, and we can send a certificate of insurance directly to your venue, usually the same day you ask. Most venues in Maryland, Pennsylvania, and Virginia require one before we can film, so if your coordinator needs it, just forward us their email and we will handle it without you being in the middle.
Your social reel arrives in 2 to 4 weeks, so you have something to share while people are still asking about the wedding. Your full films arrive in 8 to 12 weeks. We will not hold your footage hostage for six months to make a deadline look impressive. If we are running ahead of schedule, you get it early.
Yes, every collection includes every frame we shot. Not a curated selection, not the good takes. Everything. The wide shot where your grandfather is laughing in the background, the whole toast before we trimmed it, the ceremony from all angles. Spark and Chorus deliver it as a digital download. Anthem ships it on an SSD. Your wedding, your footage.
Documentary, and we mean it literally. No shot list, no posed retakes, no getting pulled away from your reception to recreate a moment that already happened. We call it being the calm in the storm. Our job is to stay out of the way, catch the real thing, and hand it back to you, because the day is going to be over before you can process any of it.
Tell us the songs that matter and we will build around them wherever we can. The honest limit is licensing. We only use properly licensed music so your film never gets muted or pulled down on Instagram, YouTube, or Facebook, which rules out most commercial tracks. We shoot with our ears too, so your own vows, toasts, and laughter carry a lot of the film.
No. There is no mileage fee anywhere in our home regions, which covers Baltimore, Annapolis, Frederick, Hagerstown, and the Eastern Shore in Maryland, York, Gettysburg, Hanover, Lancaster, and Harrisburg in Pennsylvania, Leesburg and Winchester in Northern Virginia, and Martinsburg and Harpers Ferry in the Eastern Panhandle. Past about three hours we bill travel at cost, never marked up.
Spark is one filmmaker. Chorus and Anthem are two, which is what lets us cover your partner's reaction at the same moment we are covering your walk down the aisle. You can add a second filmmaker to Spark as well. We travel light, dress like guests, and stay out of your photographer's frame all day.
Yes, and it is included in every collection at no extra charge. Matt is FAA Part 107 certified, which is what venues and airspace authorizations actually require. We fly when the weather, the airspace, and your venue allow it, and we always clear it with your coordinator first rather than surprising anyone mid-ceremony.
A signed contract and a 30 percent deposit hold your date. The balance is due before the wedding. From there we stay hands-off until you need us, then reach out ahead of the day to go over your timeline and coordinate with your photographer and planner. You will always be working directly with Matt, not an account manager.
Always, and it matters more than people expect. Your photos and your film are being made in the same room at the same time, and a videographer who fights the photographer ruins both. We introduce ourselves early, share the timeline, trade sightlines, and stay out of each other's frames. Ask any photographer we have worked with in York or Lancaster.
