About this venue

Timber Rock Lodge is a stunning boutique wedding and event venue with overnight lodging. We want you to be able to spend an amazing wedding weekend filled with quality time with those who have traveled here to celebrate with you. Our atmosphere and property invite relaxation and you and your guests are our sole focus! There are indoor and outdoor spaces available for your ceremony and reception as well as rooms for you and up to 25 other guests to stay on property. We're a Bavarian-inspired 12,000 sq ft log building surrounded by trees and woodland trails - away from the hustle and bustle. From the Great Hall with its dramatic stone fireplace and herringbone wood floors to The Cliffs where outdoor drama is all around in the cliffside waterfall, boulders and trees, Timber Rock Lodge will be an amazing backdrop for your special day! Timber Rock Lodge is owned and operated by a husband and wife team who believe customer service should be the cornerstone of all we do!

The Great Hall

This room has it all!

The Great Hall is distinguished by its dramatic floor-to-ceiling stone fireplace with a 12’ timber mantle and restored herringbone hardwood floors. With two dimmable giant chandeliers, beamed ceilings with skylights, and a Balcony overlooking it all, the room is ideal for wedding ceremonies, receptions, and cocktail parties. There are multiple configurations.

The Balcony

That feeling you’re in an elegant space that’s ready for a party!

The Balcony overlooks the Great Hall and can be used as additional reception seating, space for musicians and DJs, or even the private dining area for you and your bridal party. We sometimes see the Bride and Groom choose to have their sweetheart table in the Balcony as it's still part of the party in the Great Hall, but allows for you to have a bit of privacy. The Balcony has its own private restroom attached.

The Courtyard

Outdoors or Inside (or Both?) Where do you want to host your Ceremony & Reception?

The Courtyard is surrounded on three sides by the beautiful architecture of the Lodge and is a wonderful locale to host ceremonies, receptions, or parties. Highlights include a water feature and petite log gazebo with small deck sitting area and Edison bulbs strung throughout for the most romantic evening light. This large outdoor patio can flow easily into the adjoining garden which features 2 gas fire pits, and to the Great Hall and Lounge. Ceremony in the Courtyard, reception in the Great Hall, DJ set up in the gazebo and you’re ready to go back outside to boogie!

The Conservatory

Relax and enjoy!

The Conservatory is a beautiful and unique western exposure room featuring a stunning half round windowed area with a fieldstone archway, log walls with stucco and half-timber accents, chandeliers, beamed ceiling and a stone gas fireplace. It’s a large space that can feel very intimate. It’s a respite for you, your family and friends to gather and visit throughout their stay. Think of it as you family’s living room – comfortable and accommodating. (With a large screen TV!)

The Lounge

The Lounge is an open but intimate area for smaller gatherings or as an extension of the Great Hall. It’s the perfect space for a smaller gathering, a rehearsal dinner, and is most often used for the buffet and bar service for the Great Hall. Features a beautiful wood ceiling. A delightful penny-floor bathroom is conveniently located in the Lounge. Check it out … it’s no ordinary powder room! A penny for your thoughts!

The Pavilion

That outdoorsy feel.

The Pavilion is located on the north-side lawn of the Lodge. It’s backed by a large sweeping view of the Lodge, yard and forest beyond and is ideally suited for a wedding ceremony, smaller party, concert or any number of gatherings where being outside is desired. It’s a wonderful space to enjoy your morning coffee and chat with friends or simply tuck away and scroll the socials. Late evening gatherings can soak up lovely sunset views through the trees and you can enjoy an evening bonfire!

Barna Suite

Your Bridal Ready Room and Honeymoon Suite. A place to prepare, relax, and/or unwind.

The Barna Suite is a two-room king suite with a private dual vanity bathroom. The sitting room doubles as the Bridal Dressing Room with make-up stations set-up and seating to lounge comfortably and visit. It also features a full-length oversize mirror so you’re sure to look amazing for your walk down the aisle. There’s even a mini fridge to keep your snacks handy and an extra-tall dress rack to keep your dresses ready and wrinkle free!

The Cliffs

The Cliffs at Timber Rock Lodge features a dramatic waterfall among the trees and boulders under the cliffs. A natural flagstone patio and wood benches for your guests create a comfortable space in nature. A woodland boardwalk entrance or be chauffeured on our golf cart to the base of the Cliffs. This space has a wow factor like you can't believe!

    I can not express how wonderful of an experience I had with Timber Rock lodge. It is no secret that the wedding industry is getting ridiculous with pricing, Timber Rock Lodge was fairly priced, especially considering how diligent Michelle and Ralph were leading up to the wedding, and on the day of, not to mention all of the available amenities included! The venue itself is gorgeous, and the owners do everything they can to make it such a special and beautiful place for couples getting married there. Leading up to the wedding, without questions, the owners stepped up to have Ralph officiate my wedding when we had to part ways with our officiant unexpectedly. After our wedding reception when we expressed that we didn’t know what to do with all the florals, they were able to get them donated to a local nursing home so they would not go to waste! Timber Rock Lodge is a gem in the wedding industry, and the owners are seriously some of the nicest, most accommodating, and genuine people I have met!

    We recently held our wedding here and it was the most perfect, beautiful venue we could imagine! The lodge was so cool and cozy, and the property was so well taken care of and nestled in the trees. Michelle and Ralph never hesitated to help us and were genuinely the nicest people! The flexibility and resources provided definitely took away a lot of the stress so we could enjoy our day. The location was a beautiful drive. Would highly recommend!!

    We had our wedding here this past weekend. We rented out the Lodge for the whole weekend, and I genuinely could not describe a more perfect weekend. Michelle & Ralph were incredible. The Lodge was clean, cozy, and well-cared for. They did so much work to help us set up for our wedding, and Ralph was the perfect officiant. Their communication was phenomenal, and our guests told my (now officially!!) husband & I how beautiful the space was and how much they loved the Lodge. THANK YOU Michelle & Ralph for helping us host the wedding of our dreams - we couldn't have done it without y'all!

Yes, we do. Both indoors and outdoors.
50-75 is a great size group at The Lodge as there’s more room to move about and lots more options for set-up and flow. More than 75 people, your guests may be seated in different areas for an indoor reception.
We request all tours be by appointment only. Make sure you bring along your whole crew as giving 2nd or 3rd private tours is challenging - you might also watch for our occasional Open House tours.
No. Many venues have minimums because they make a 10 - 15% commission from the caterer based on how much you spend on food and drinks. We do not make a commission on food. Some caterers may have reasonable minimums for specific dates so you should check with yours specifically.
You must choose a licensed and insured caterer (and bartender if applicable). We ask that you look at our list of recommendations as they have been made based on our experiences and those of our couples.
We have on-site lodging at the Inn at Timber Rock Lodge! We even offer wedding parties a discount for your party. In addition to our wedding couple, we can accommodate up to 25 overnight guests. If you have more than that, we can make excellent recommendations for overflow at nearby short-term rentals we have vetted and feel good about quality and location.
We have spaces for a ceremony and reception inside as well as the wonderful option of a combined space which is the most comfortable for your guests as they sit at their tables and the TRL team moves the few tables down the middle of the Great Hall to create a beautiful aisle. Our couples have loved this option because it’s a stunning ceremony location and doesn’t require the room flip, which would be disruptive to your event. It also eliminates the need to decorate two different spaces.
If you are choosing a one-day option, you will have access to the venue and bridal party dressing area at 12 noon. To gain earlier access for a Saturday ceremony and reception, you can add a Friday. Inquire for more details on “2-DAY RENTAL – Add a Friday!”
Yes, we do - for civil services only (non-religious). If you need someone to perform your ceremony, we have an officiant on-site who is a notary public and able to marry people in the state of Tennessee as long as that couple has a marriage license obtained in Tennessee within 30 days of the ceremony. The fee for such service is $100.
Our fee structure remains the same whether you hold only your ceremony, reception, or both events at TRL.
We do offer a well lit and paved parking area including several handicap spaces. We can easily handle up to 70 average sized vehicles.

Yes. We have both black and white tablecloths available in either round or rectangle shapes based on your table setup. There is a $12-$15 dry cleaning fee for each one, depending on size.
Yes, any couple who has booked their wedding at Timber Rock Lodge is welcome to come take engagement photos on property - we only ask that you contact us to make an appointment.
You love it, you’ve checked our calendar and you’ve reached out to us personally to verify the availability and your date is open! We will issue a contract for signature once you give us the “YES, LET’S DO THIS!” and you will immediately make your payment of 1/3 of the balance for the venue to hold your date on our calendar. NOTE: Pricing is based on the date you sign and return your contract. Not based on pricing at the time of your tour or verbal commitment.
Your initial payment of 1/3 of the total for the venue is made at the time of booking. The next payment of 1/3 of the remaining balance is due 6 months prior to your wedding and the final payment is due 2 months before your wedding. If you are booking within 6 months of your wedding, half of your payment is made upon booking and the remaining balance is paid 2 months prior. A refundable security deposit is part of these payments.
We prefer cash/check. Any credit card or other form of payment used will incur a 3% convenience fee.
We do not, with so many couples reaching out all the time we just can’t keep up. Your best plan is to book your date ASAP and to remain flexible about considering a Sunday or other day of the week as Saturdays tend to be in higher demand.
We have excellent catering recommendations. You may use a caterer who is licensed and insured. There should be someone onsite who monitors food set-up, serving and clean-up. The venue is not responsible for this. Please speak to your caterer.
You will work directly with the caterer. They should reach out to us directly for information regarding our kitchen set-up and parking and arrival.
You will need to check with your caterer. TRL does not have any requirements or minimums, so long as your choice of caterer is licensed and insured..
For a Saturday wedding, music and bar must conclude at 10:30 pm. For a Sunday wedding, they must conclude by 9:00 pm.
Drop-off and pick-up of items should be made within the designated rental period. Outside those times, we cannot guarantee a Timber Rock Lodge team member will be available. We have very limited storage capability.
We allow flameless candles only. We love all our woodwork too much to risk starting a fire with open flames.
Three weeks prior to your wedding.
In Tennessee you have no waiting period, so you can obtain the license and get married right away (but not mor than 30 days after the issue date). Licenses are issued at the County Clerk’s office in person during normal operating hours.
You choose the layout option that best fits your plans. Tables and chairs (and our linens if you choose to use them) will be set up by our team members before you arrive. After your event you will need to clear your personal décor items, but our team will take care of tables, chairs and linens.
We suggest starting Saturday weddings between 4:00 - 5:00 p.m. and Sunday weddings at 4:00 p.m.
Fireworks are not permitted. This includes sparklers. We are in a building made entirely of wood so you can appreciate our wanting to keep our guests and property safe!
