About this venue
At The Tillerman, we like to make people feel at home. We are an inn, restaurant and event space restored and reimagined from its 1790’s bones and we’re all about the small, meaningful details that create sense of place. When folks leave here they feel like they have had an experience that feeds the soul. Our food is impeccably sourced from local farms, producers, vendors, makers and ranchers. We are entirely committed to quality and keeping our food simple and rustic. We want our guests to feel like they're going to a big dinner party at their friend’s house who also happens to be the best cook and host they know. Our vibe is old New England meets northern California meets a flower market meets a farmers market meets a warm, vibrant community. Everyone is welcome at The Tillerman. Our barn is the central location for weddings, small or large! For microweddings, the barn is used for dinner & dancing. For larger weddings, the barn is used for cocktail hour & reception.

The Summer Kitchen dining room is the perfect spot for micro weddings. An intimate space with hardwood floors, walls and ceilings and big windows that let in the light.

An intimate celebration for 30 people or less, in our restaurant or barn. Our inspired, seasonal menus reflect our commitment to our local farmers and makers - with wood-fired cooking at the heart of it all. Alcohol & beverage are charged on consumption. Options to add on a few more people to your event, or stay with us in our inn with 7 rooms.

A simple, off-season intimate wedding for 65 people or less. Our inspired, seasonal menus reflect our commitment to our local farmers and makers - with wood-fired cooking at the heart of it all. Alcohol & beverage are charged based on consumption, otherwise the package is inclusive of everything you need for a late fall, winter, or spring wedding! Package available November-May. Required to book our inn for a minimum of 2 nights with all 7 rooms. Available select summer dates

Dream Venue, Team, and Wedding Weekend
(9/27/25; 130 people) It is hard to sum up how special of a place the Tillerman is. We feel so lucky that we were able to have our wedding there and have endless gratitude for the Tillerman team for giving us the best weekend of our lives. From our first conversation with Kenzie, we immediately felt that this is not your normal wedding venue. Jason, Kate, Kenzie, Merel, and the entire Tillerman team have created an environment and experience that magically combines unique intentionality with flawless execution. As a couple planning from CA, we felt deeply cared for and we always knew we were in the best hands. We were already in love with the Tillerman and their wedding process even before we stepped foot on property. The easiest and best part of the entire planning process was every touchpoint with the Tillerman team. Menu & beverage planning was a joy and the genuine care for sourcing locally, bringing a unique farm to table experience to guests, and letting couples be creative in crafting their event. Merel & Kenzie even made custom menu art and the most incredible printed materials for us. Jason sourced such a fantastic list of beverages for us and we had the kindest, best bartenders. It is a unique combo to be able to give guests incredible food & bev and an incredible, seamless guest experience and the Tillerman cares deeply about both; you can tell it is so woven into their ethos. If I could have Kenzie plan & execute every event in my life I would be thrilled. And truly...I cannot tell you how many people came up to us to say that this was the best wedding food they have ever had. It is incredible what Chef Taylor & the whole team does. In addition to a stunning ceremony location where you can hear the river, to the perfect party barn, to the best accommodations that allowed our families to be together the whole weekend, every nook and cranny at the Tillerman is special. Our guests loved exploring the Cozy and sitting by firepit and I felt like I would blink and the Tillerman had transformed the space and thought of something unique for the guest experience. Every photo is stunning because of the natural beauty of the Tillerman. We also were able to have an incredible family kick off dinner at the restaurant and we all couldn't get enough of the property. We feel so beyond lucky to have found the Tillerman and it will forever be a special place to us. If you are looking for a venue that cares deeply about you as a couple, is the antithesis of a cookie cutter wedding venue, is kind and professional, and goes above & beyond in every aspect, then look no further. We are so grateful for the amount of love and care that was put in by every single person at the Tillerman. We can't wait to be back!

If you’re looking for a quintessential Vermont wedding, stop searching and book the Tillerman. From vision to planning to execution, the Tillerman team was absolutely top-notch. The wedding food was sublime, and the accolades from our guests have been pouring in non-stop. Big thank YOU to the whole Tillerman team for giving us the wedding of our dreams. My wife and I can’t wait to return again-and-again to this special place.
Dream New England Wedding
Beautiful and lush, historic yet luxurious, delicious food for the locavore, organized and professional staff...all anchored by a classic Big Red Barn. We loved our experience at The Tillerman, and think our guests did too. Their recommended vendors also were great - no issues.
Hidden gem in Vermont
Wedding- September 14th, 2024 (35 guests) Tillerman was a hidden gem for us as we loved their down to earth atmosphere. If you are looking for something beautiful, rustic and natural- then do not look any further. Tillerman was beyond perfect- from the start of the ceremony until we ended our evening with marshmallows at the campfire. The drinks and the food were delicious and well done. Kenzie was responsive to our questions and needs- throughout the planning. We are forever thankful for Tillerman once again for everything they did for us.
