Opened by Ed George Sr. in 1948, The Tangier has been providing the Akron community with food and entertainment for three generations. This historic complex is Akron’s leading creative event center, offering new menus with an artistic flair and a multi-faceted, off-site catering and special event service – all at a competitive price point. Beginning with the most personalized service, our wedding consultants will guide you through innovative ideas, fresh menus and endless options of linens, centerpieces and lighting. Your guests will be talking about your event long after the last plate is cleared.

Working with Angelica was an absolute pleasure! She brought our vision to life perfectly—the ceremony and reception were everything we hoped for and truly beautiful. The food was delicious, and the service was outstanding. Communication was smooth and responsive throughout the entire process. Having access to the patio all night, complete with the furniture and bar cart, was a huge hit—especially for our older guests who appreciated having a comfortable space to relax and chat while others danced the night away. The courtyard was a great area to get photos too!!
