About this venue
The Raymond venue is listed on the National Historic Register as the Raymond Motor Company. Originally a 1920’s garage warehouse, it set empty on the town square for decades. Our dream was to create a space for community and celebration in the heart of our charming downtown. It has been our joy to carefully restore it with extra thought and intention to share a most dreamy and awe-inspiring space. We are owned and operated by three friends and visionaries who are local residents who join many others thinking that Raymond is truly a hidden gem with untold potential. We are delighted to collectively realize a dream and fulfill a commitment to serve our community and state and provide a beautiful celebration space for all to enjoy. We want to be known as the venue that loves a celebration and that genuinely cares about you and the details of your big day. Cheers!

Enchanting Historical Space
From the original exposed “chippy” brick walls and barrelled ceiling, handcrafted light fixtures, and original factory windows, The Raymond lends both character and history. With a high-end finish out and a wide-open blank canvas, you have the option of both simple and elegant. Our outdoor ceremony space is nestled in our enchanting garden among lush greens and hidden away for intimacy. Within walking distance are old churches, antebellum homes, and our iconic Courthouse.

Dreamy Bridal Suite and Portico Lounge, use of The Bird Dog Lounge for the groom and his best buddies to get ready for the big day, Corn hole, outdoor fire pit area (weather permitting), The Raymond team members onsite throughout the evening to assist, outdoor ceremony option, outdoor Courtyard area for cocktails and pre-reception, endless spots for photos on-site and within walking distance in our historic picturesque town, full Stage with power hookups, access to our “Something Borrowed” room.
The Portico Lounge
A truly MAGICAL place.
The Portico name is inspired by the iconic 1920’s pull through portico marking the front of The Raymond Venue. In addition to our beautiful bridal suite, we are now offering our brides a LUXE BRIDAL LOUNGE. A few of our offerings will now include plenty of lounging/seating, cocktail bar, food options and even more of the amazing photo opportunities we are known for at The Raymond. This Portico Lounge is part of your rental when you book your wedding with us.

The Bird Dog
Southern Gentleman Vibes
The Bird Dog house is our smaller event rental and grooms space. It includes a large party deck with grill, fire pit area, yard games, pool table, outdoor shower and much more. It has been designed uniquely to accommodate grooms as well as a sophisticated event space. Reminiscent of days gone by where southern gentleman could relax, pour some whiskey, and light a cigar.

Wedding Day
I knew I wanted to have my wedding at The Raymond the second I walked onto the property. It felt so inviting and exactly what we envisioned for our wedding day! The staff was amazing to work with and made sure we had everything we needed for the day. The photo spots are endless and so unique. I would recommend this venue to anyone looking to get married or have a party!

Just a simple a simple request for a Coke after sitting outside in the sun for a while for our niece’s wedding doesn’t seem like a difficult task, does it? After her wedding service, the congregation was told to go inside for the reception. We went in, looked around at the decorations and the way the food was set up, and then stood in the line. The only line. The line that people were walking away from with beverages. My husband and I got to the counter and asked for a Coke, which seemed like a simple request. We were told that they only served alcohol. We couldn’t have a Coke. Let me make something very clear. They were pouring Coke into the glasses that they were also pouring liquor into. So why was this simple request for a Coke denied? When we questioned it, the manager/owner was rude and told us that they only served alcohol. I am dumbfounded at the fact that this was a very simple request that was handled so rudely and no effort was made to accommodate. When we told the father of the bride, my husband’s brother, about this, of course it angered him. He went to the counter and asked for a Coke. He was told the same thing, and they wouldn’t give the man who was paying for the event a Coke! So much for Southern hospitality, or just hospitality in general. Even if this counter was the bar, a simple request for a Coke should have been fulfilled for the pleasure of the guest. If there was a designated soft drink area, it was not inside the venue. If it was in the outside area, it was not easily seen, as I never saw it. The fact of the matter is due to the sheer rudeness and unwillingness to take care of a guest, I cannot, and will not recommend this venue, especially when the father of the bride, the person who was footing-the-bill for the event, was denied a simple request for a Coke as well.

As the venue and bar provider, we stock Coke in limited quantities for mixers, while general nonalcoholic beverages are provided by the client’s caterer. We are sorry this was not clearly explained. Once the father of the bride approached the bar, our owner personally made sure he received a Coke and reminded the bartender that caring for the couple and their parents is always our top priority.
