The Black Hawk Hotel is brimming with historic character! The Black Hawk Hotel is the second longest operating hotel in the country and features beautiful historic character that will wow your guests and be the backdrop for gorgeous photo opps. We're located in the heart of Downtown Cedar Falls, so your guests will love exploring the District's shops, bars and restaurants before and after your wedding. We are also the only locally-owned hotel the Cedar Valley, and pride ourselves on being local experts. Our guests routinely compliment our Midwestern Hospitality! We are nearly a one-stop-shop for your wedding festivities, and can check off the major services you need to host a celebration to remember. But, we don't require you use our services; just select what fits your vision. We offer rental of the lobby and bar in the historic hotel, catering services, cakes, bar service, event planning, day-of coordination, hotel room blocks, bridal/getting ready suites and honeymoon suites.

A charming and historic venue located in the heart of Downtown Cedar Falls!

The historic lobby is full of turn-of-the-century character, with original (1853) penny tile floor, beautiful restored wood columns, and a fireplace/mantle and baby grand piano as the centerpiece for gathering. The lobby flows directly into Bar Winslow, our upscale craft cocktail bar, where the vibe gets more nighttime and moody with lush velvet furniture, dim lit sconces and brass accents.

The Black Hawk Hotel was a wonderful venue for our wedding. From the moment we first reached out, Molly was an absolute delight to work with. She was incredibly responsive and helpful, guiding us through every step of the planning process. On the day of the wedding, Molly's calm presence and attention to detail ensured that everything ran smoothly. She kept us on schedule and made sure we were able to fully enjoy our special day without having to worry about the logistics. Molly's warm and refreshing personality was a true asset, and we are so grateful for the role she played in making our wedding day perfect. Your reservation starts at Noon and ends at Midnight on the day of your event. Additional time may be added (subject to availability and an additional fee).

We do not offer in-house catering. You are welcome to bring in your own vendors and we are happy to recommend some we work with often!

Yes! We host showers, bachelor/bachelorette parties, day-after brunches, engagement parties and more! Our intimate venue is the perfect backdrop for any wedding-related event.

We are happy to extend a 10% discount on hotel rooms when 10+ rooms are booked, and a 20% discount when 20+ rooms are booked. The historic hotel has 27 guest rooms total. Remember, the wedding couple receive a complimentary bridal suite / honeymoon suite on the night of their wedding!

Yes, the hotel is wheelchair accessible. The event space is located on the ground floor of the hotel with no elevation change, and the hotel rooms are accessible by an elevator. Please contact us to learn what hotel rooms are accessible.
