Our Bar and Lanai is a stunning open-air space perched above the ocean, offering panoramic views of Kailua Bay and Kona’s famous sunsets. With high ceilings, tropical wood finishes, and a private bar, it’s the perfect blend of island charm and effortless elegance. The lanai opens completely to the ocean, allowing guests to enjoy gentle sea breezes and the sound of the waves while dining and dancing under the stars.

Papa Kona Was Cute!
We chose Papa Kona Events & Catering for their beautiful oceanview setting, and Kisa and others made the planning process easy and stress-free with her friendly, straightforward communication. On our wedding day, she was right there with us, handling setup and talking through details in a way that kept us calm and grounded. The venue itself was gorgeous and perfect for our celebration as we only had 45 total guests. That said, we did run into a few issues—they lost some of our personal decorations and served us a chipped shot glass that cut one of our guest's lips, which was disappointing. We also arrived to cocktail hour and had no music playing when we arrived. We appreciated that they comped our champagne bill to make things right. Overall, Papa Kona delivered the intimate, beautiful day we wanted, though the alcohol pricing was steep and we wish they'd been more careful with the details. The food was very good as well as amazing deserts for everyone. Something to note, it is a mostly outdoor patio, so it is extremely hot. I wish they had better a/c units or fans to help ease the heat.
