About this venue
Perched above the scenic Potomac River with sweeping views of the Catoctin Mountains, this historic estate offers a breathtaking setting for your special day. The 57 acre estate features an 18th-century-style manor house, a beautifully-restored barn, formal gardens and a reflecting swimming pool. It is framed by mature oak trees, rustic outbuildings and pastoral vistas. Pricing includes use of all event locations on-site which can be used to transition from one area of the estate to another. At Murray Hill we host only one wedding each week. This scheduling policy ensures that brides and vendors may begin preparations earlier in the week and finish them the day after the celebration in an unrushed fashion. We are known for our welcoming spirit and flexibility as we support all of your needs, leaving you to relax, enjoy and create beautiful memories.

Restored llama barn blends rustic elegance with modern amenities
The restored barn accommodates up to 200 guests. Eliminating the need to rent a tent, the barn features a fully equipped kitchen, indoor restrooms, decorative drapes, chandeliers and twinkle lights to set the mood. One side of the barn is open and spills out to a sweeping lawn, often the scene of casual lounging and games.

The manor home at Murray Hill offers both a breathtaking and convenient setting for your wedding. With stunning river views, the home offers several rooms that are available for brides and wedding parties to enjoy on the special day. The home is open for our guests and has a treasure trove of antiques and memorabilia that lovers of local history will particularly enjoy.

Beautiful Venue with Truly Exceptional Hosts
Our experience at Murray Hill was truly exceptional. Peggy and John went above and beyond to make our wedding stress-free. They were incredibly accommodating, allowing us to drop things off throughout the week and even letting us return the next day to pick up remaining items. That simple kindness meant we could fully enjoy our wedding night without any logistical worries, something many other venues don’t offer. The property itself is breathtaking. Nearly every guest commented on how stunning the venue was, and for many of our friends and family visiting from California, it was their first impression of Virginia. I am so grateful that Murray Hill is what they will remember most from their trip. One of the things I loved most was the flexibility of the space. There are so many beautiful areas on the property to choose from, and I felt like I had more creative freedom with our ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception than at any other venue we toured. On top of all that, Murray Hill is incredibly affordable. You can genuinely tell Peggy and John do this out of love, not just business. I cannot recommend Murray Hill enough. It is a gem in every way!
Perfect outdoor venue for a rustic wedding!
My husband and I got married outdoors at Murray Hill, overlooking the Potomac River. It was the perfect, most peaceful setting for our intimate wedding. The rustic scenery and barn gave just the look we wanted for our photos. Peggy is amazing to work with, and has such a gift for bringing a vision to life. We couldn’t recommend her and Murray Hill more.
Perfect Bridal Venue
Murray Hill Events was the perfect choice for our bridal shower venue. From the beginning, their communication was excellent and friendly. The grounds were lovely, with a beautiful view of the river and a historic home that provided a gorgeous backdrop for our special day. The staff served as perfect hosts, offering excellent catering recommendations that resulted in a delicious meal for our guests. We could not have asked for a better value or higher quality experience for our event! Highly recommended!
Beautiful venue in the Loudoun Country countryside
We could not have selected a more perfect venue for our nonprofit fundraiser. The owners were very gracious and wonderful to work with. They provided lists of recommended caterers, rental companies, and ideas for how to setup the space. We had a sit down dinner served by a local caterer who cooked onsite. We had a stage and music for presentations, and many tables filled with silent auction items. There is ample room for parking with ease of access. The small lights along with the chandeliers made for a beautiful setting inside the barn, and with an open view to the surrounding pastures. We recommend Murray Hill for any large gathering, especially weddings.
