Hiccups along the way, in the end great

Overall, we had a nice experience working with Gather. They accommodated our ongoing beverage requests and were flexible with our last minute needs which was appreciated. The things that stood out as negative were as follows... it was my understanding we would be able to lock in the space for rehearsal dinner five weeks out and when we went to secure it they told us we would now need to wait until two weeks out to secure that in case someone else wanted to book the space the day before our wedding. We had to send rehearsal invites with a disclaimer the location was TBD and communicate that via word of mouth once we had it secured two weeks before. There was also some lack of transparency, in order to use Gather, you also have to use their catering team Levy. They sent us the contract for Gather to secure the venue spaces but not Levy at the same time, so when we reviewed the Levy contract, once it was sent months later, that we were already locked into - there were some items we needed to go back and forth and redline which the process for took a long time. It was mentioned that this agreement was supposed to be sent and signed along with my Gather venue agreement, but that didn’t happen. It felt like we we're locked into additional charges through Levy that we weren’t fully aware of, and it added stress. There was also not consistent tracking of payments as at one point I was told we had paid a charge that remained unpaid and was still a balance that needed outstanding payment. All that said, the space is beautiful, day of staff are attentive, and the location for those who have out of town guests can't be beat because of the quality and quantity hotels nearby. It's a beautiful space and in the end while I was very grateful to the staff for working everything out and to have such a beautiful wedding there, it was the main causes of my personal wedding planning stress.
