Our ceremony site sits low in the trees, in a clearing the creek wraps around on its way down the mountain. Ferns grow thick along the banks. Mountain laurel closes in on every side, and the canopy overhead keeps it shaded through an August afternoon. What couples notice first is what they can't see.No parking lot. No buildings. Just the trees, the laurel, and the people who came to watch. It's quiet down here, except for the water. Bring your vows and nothing else.

Some altars are built. This one grew. The ceremony happens beneath a wide old tree, with white fabric woven through the branches above you — it lifts and settles all afternoon without anyone touching it. Nothing here was constructed. No arbor, no tent, no structure in the frame. Just old wood, white linen, and everyone you love.

Coghlan Lodge is our flagship — 5,200 square feet built for a mountain wedding in any month of the year. A stone fireplace anchors one end, a custom bar the other. Roll-up glass doors open the entire wall to the covered patio and the Blue Ridge beyond, or close against a February wind. Inside: a modern kitchen, luxury bathrooms, full climate control, and a backup generator. Dinner with the doors up. Dancing with the fire lit. Up to 200 guests.

In 1933, Civilian Conservation Corps crews came to the mountains to cut trails and build Vogel State park. This was the hall where they gathered at the end of the day. Ninety years later, it's fully restored — original timber rafters, stone fireplace, seating for 70, a full kitchen, bathrooms, and a covered porch with a bar. It's where our couples host welcome dinners and rehearsal dinners, and where the smallest weddings happen. Old wood, low light, and a porch built for a long evening.
