Located in Zeeland, MI, District 5 Schoolhouse is a historic wedding venue with a narrative that extends into the 1800s. Its walls have withstood over a century of use and housed various types of establishments. For couples who seek a spot with heritage, this venue can tick that box. There are two outdoor areas as well as two decks for seating. Before the ceremony, the betrothed can get ready in separate suites, both located on the premises. Bar services are included in packages and decorations may be rented on request. For downtime, couples and their guests have the opportunity to enjoy a bonfire or numerous outdoor games.

The Venue

Historic 1908 Schoolhouse with original features

A charming set of indoor and outdoor event spaces invite you to come and design the wedding you have always dreamed of. With two large garden areas available, it’s an easy task to find a tranquil spot to say “I do”. Lush vegetation and towering trees surround the manicured lawns, a welcoming prospect beneath the soaring Michigan sky. Inside of the District 5 Schoolhouse, a stunning set of spaces await you. Boasting many of its original structural elements, the building maintains much of its vintage charm. The distinctive wooden floors help to create a warm and inviting ambiance that makes one feel relaxed and at home. There is room for 180 of your guests with additional space left over for a buffet service area and dancefloor. Get-ready rooms are also located inside and provide a private place for you and your entourage to prepare in. Two decks extend from the house and make for an idyllic social area during festive events.

    We loved having our wedding at District 5 Schoolhouse! Their communication throughout the planning process was perfect - always quick to respond and super efficient in answering our questions. The venue itself is beautiful and so well maintained, 100% worth the money we paid. The staff was also incredibly friendly and accommodating in coordinating our entire wedding day timeline and making sure things flowed smoothly. We couldn't have asked for a better venue or team to work with for our special day!
