About this venue
Set in the heart of the Catskill Mountains is a literary haven known as the Book Village. ABOUT US The Book Village Inn is a historic 1800s home converted into a five-room inn, bar, restaurant, & event space. With sprawling lawns, historic charm, & a flowing stream, the setting is magical. OUR SPACES We offer multiple spaces for your wedding--our bar/restaurant, a rustic barn, old schoolhouse, sprawling green lawns & a beer garden. OUR LOCATION Located right on Main Street—a short walk to the bookstores our town is famous for. FOOD & BEVERAGE In-house catering and bar services offering: passed canapés, cocktail hour, seating dinner, buffet, desserts, & a few fun late-night munchies. WHAT WE OFFER Complete & private use of the entire building and property + ceremony seating, cocktail tables, and picnic tables. We work with preferred vendors to offer everything else you may need. THE INN A two-night buyout of the inn is included in your venue fee.

Biergarten
Our biergarten is the space perfect for almost any event. Feat. its own bar, picnic tables, stage, bbq area, and river flowing along one side.
We recommend our biergarten for any events in which your guests will need a place to sit--engagement parties, bridal showers, rehearsal dinner, wedding reception, and farewell brunch. Your guests can eat their meals at the picnic table while enjoying speeches or music on stage, order drinks at the bar, and enjoy the water views all in one area. There is plenty of standing space for mingling and dancing as well. Tent can be added for rainy conditions. Table umbrellas available for shade.

Barn
The barn is a blank slate ready to serve your needs. It can be arranged for an elopement or small ceremony, parties or seated meal events.
Transform our historic barn into the setting of your dreams. With its own bar and plenty of space, the barn can be utilized for almost any event. We will say that after parties in the barn are our favorite, but the space is also perfect for elopements or small ceremony. Tables and chairs could be brought in to set up for a rehearsal dinner, reception, or other meal-focused event.

Schoolhouse
Our historic school house would make the perfect backdrop for an intimate elopement. With the river flowing just outside the door, it's truly serene.
This rustic space is the perfect blank canvas for you to transform into something remarkable. Think: simple florals everywhere, draped linens, and pools of light shining through the historic windows. Perfect for an intimate elopement and also a great photo location for our larger weddings.

Front Lawn
The lawn is the perfect location for guests to gather proir to the ceremony and the ideal spot for a cocktail hour between the ceremony & reception.
Our lawn is where guests first enter when they arrive, making it the perfect spot for guests to gather between when they arrive & when the ceremony starts. Champagne can be passed or a self-serve drink station can be set up. We also recommend this space for cocktail hour where guests can enjoy cocktails and canapés. Fire pits can be provided for warmth throughout or for a late-night s'mores surprise. The lawn is a blank slate to be set up however you see fit. We also have various yard games.

Built in 1800s and lovingly restored since, our bar & restaurant has the kind of charm you rarely find nowadays with its exposed beams and fireplace.
Depending on the size, our restaurant and bar can be utilized for any seated event such a rehearsal dinner, farewell brunch, or small wedding reception. It is the coziest place on site--your guests can enjoy dinner and drinks under original 1800s wood beams with the sound of the fireplace crackling in the background. The tables around the restaurant sit 22 and the bar can seat an additional 10.

River Lawn
Our favorite spot for ceremonies and elopements--our river lawn. Bordered by the school house, biergarten, and the flowing river, it's a magical spot.
Say your vows where the creek meets the trees. Our river lawn is a naturally secluded ceremony space tucked along a gently flowing creek, framed by towering pines and lush greenery. A ceremony with the sound of the river flowing behind you and shade from our enchanting trees will become a core memory forever.

Charming venue with a rustic vibe
This place is absolutely charming and full of rustic character. We held a wedding ceremony here and the setting was magical surrounded by trees, vintage wooden houses, and nature all around. The outdoor seating was simple but cozy, and there was a beautiful space for gathering and dining under the trees. The peaceful atmosphere made the whole experience feel relaxed and special. Highly recommended for small events, outdoor weddings, or private celebrations.
