  • Unfulfilled Contract and No Communication

We hired Events by Paradise for our May 24, 2025 wedding at Barn 305 after carefully researching vendors and falling in love with their past work. From the start, communication seemed promising, and we felt confident in entrusting Julie with our floral vision. Unfortunately, what we received on our wedding day was far below what was promised—and what we paid for in our signed contract. We were supposed to receive six full floral arrangements for the ceremony aisle, but only two minimal pieces were delivered at the entrance, with barely any flowers or greenery. The bridal bouquet was completely different from what we discussed—missing key flowers and the shape we had agreed upon. The reception florals were also fewer and smaller than the quantities outlined in the contract. In addition, we paid for a "flip fee" to have a staff member move the ceremony florals to our sweetheart table after the ceremony, but no one stayed. We also paid a “breakdown fee” for the team to return and pick up their rental equipment, but no one ever came. The venue had to do the cleanup for them, and their rental pieces were never collected. What’s most upsetting is that Julie arrived, set up the limited florals, spoke briefly to my mother and coordinator without mentioning that anything was missing, and then left without saying a word. We never signed off on the arrangements as “satisfactory” because they clearly weren’t. We tried texting and calling her immediately after she left, and have continued to try and reach out through phone, email, instagram, etc. She has read the messages but has never responded. We truly chose this vendor in good faith, based on their past work and what we were promised. But what we experienced was a lack of transparency, incomplete services, and total lack of accountability after the fact. We’ve tried repeatedly to resolve this privately, but after being ignored for weeks, we feel compelled to share our experience so others can make an informed decision. We hope Events by Paradise takes responsibility and makes things right—not just for us, but to preserve the trust of future clients.

I don't even know where to begin with this team. I absolutely loved being able to just reach out to Julie with questions via text, instead of having to schedule calls. By my wedding day, she felt more like an old friend than a contractor. Her team was professional, communicative, and made sure that we understood all aspects of each of our vendor contracts - including some clauses that we didn't know to look for. She made excellent recommendations, and she was so creative with making our vision come to life.

My daughter got married at Cheeca Lodge in the Keys, and it was a challenge for us to plan her wedding being from out of state. Enter Julie, who was a Godsend in making sure that not only was every detail planned for the wedding, but who went above and beyond and helped us with all of the logistics for our guests’ travel, with coordinating ride shares to and from Miami Airport, with making suggestions for our rehearsal dinner off property, and who made sure that we knew all of the details to pull off a destination event. Her team provided all of my daughter’s flowers, and they were perfect for the setting. We had bright colors and tropical arrangements and Julie did a great job of creating a beautiful scene, without overcharging us on items where we didn’t need to go overboard. Not only that, she worked around our schedules for calls and was always quick to answer when we had a question. She came down twice to meet with us at the venue, and showed us around the area. Great team, very professional!

Please save yourself from getting scammed out of thousands of dollars! We made the mistake of booking Events by Paradise to do the florals and Day of Coordination for our wedding in May 2024. To say we were disappointed is an understatement. When it came to the florals, they arrived 90 minutes late, significantly affecting our day of timeline, we were missing pieces, and ALL of the boutonnières and bridesmaids bouquets wilted in the first hour. Not only were they sloppy, but they were NOTHING what we asked for. Unfortunately, the florals were the least of our worries, as Julie, the owner and coordinator assigned to our wedding, did not show up to our rehearsal to help practice, despite confirming to both myself and my venue manager that she would be there. She was always 10 minutes late to every planning call we had- one time she said it was because she “got caught up watching the news” on the day of the wedding, she did not show up. There was zero communication to myself, the bride, regarding anything to do with the wedding or flowers. She told my venue manager that she was sick and sent a “back up” that sat in the office on her phone the entire wedding and spoke to me maybe a combined total of 60 seconds the whole day. I do not feel like I got a single penny of my moneys worth and I HIGHLY recommend using any other vendor in the Sarasota/ south Florida area. This company is a scam and should be ashamed of themselves.
