About Vivid Imagery

S.D. James

Based in Michigan, I work across portraits, weddings and events, and real estate, and I never stop photographing the places themselves, from the lilacs of Mackinac Island to sunsets over the Straits to the Detiort city skyline from Windsor. Different subjects, one approach: pay attention, keep people comfortable, and chase good light until the image feels alive. When I hand over a gallery, I want you to feel something, not just see yourself, but recognise the moment. That is the whole point of Vivid Imagery.

I am organized, accessible, and here when you need me whether that means a late-night text, an early-morning call, or hands-on help making the plan come together. Your experience matters just as much as the final images. Because a great gallery should do more than show you how everything looked. It should bring you back to how it felt.
