Petronella Lugemwa is the Founder & Creative Director of Petronella Photography, a speaker, writer, avid reader and storyteller and believes that what makes you different makes you beautiful. She was born in Uganda and moved to Birmingham, Alabama when she was 10 years old. She photographed the November 2018 cover of Rangefinder Magazine and was named 1 of 30 Rising Stars in wedding photography worldwide. Petronella Photography has been featured in Essence, Martha Stewart Weddings, New York Magazine Weddings and MunaLuchi Bride.

I specialize in helping multicultural, interracial, multiracial and interfaith couples and families around the world celebrate their love, culture & family in a modern way through spectacular visual stories.

    As a mixed-race couple with a wonderfully diverse group of family and friends, it was incredibly important to us to find a photographer who could skillfully capture different skin tones without washing out one for the sake of another.     If you are looking for an Artist who will capture you at your very best look no further! The time spent with the Petronella Photography team was beyond words magic! We had the pleasure of working with Petronella for our engagement shoot, and it was our first indication that our time with her was going to be epic! She stopped traffic TWICE for us to ensure the capture of the perfect image! My fiancé hates to smile, but Petronella cajoled some of the most beautiful smiles I have ever seen!
