Welcome. I’ve been a make-up artist, chocolatier, a barista, a pet-sitter, a bartender but I’ve always been “that girl with the camera.” (I’ve also been, “that girl who sleeps on our couch” or “that girl who’s booty I saw in the newspaper” but I digress…). Currently, I base my photography business in Petaluma, CA. I grew up in Sonoma County but in my early 20’s I picked up and moved to Manitoba and that’s where I stayed for many years. Upon my return to CA in 2013 I turned my passion for photography into a career. It’s been a journey to call photography my profession, but I’ve always been a photographer and I’ve always been an artist.

I started photography in Sebastopol, CA 20 years ago shooting only film & hand-developing images in a poorly ventilated darkroom I built at home. My inspiration came from the people around me and framing life as it happened. I want to capture not only the moments you're looking forward to on your wedding day but, also the unexpected moments that make your wedding day so special. For the last decade, I’ve been using my documentary-style photography here in Sonoma County to capture incredible, raw moments at Northern California weddings and showcase unique personalities in my portraiture.

From those quiet moments getting ready all the way to dancing and drinks late into the night (not going to lie, the party is my favorite part).     We hired Loren for our rustic wedding on the Mendocino Coast. She did a fantastic job and we couldn't have been happier with our decision to hire Loren. She was a great communicator, easy to work with, flexible, professional, and an all around lovely person. We love her photos from the weekend and she inspired some great shots of us laughing and having fun that day. She has our highest recommendation!

    Loren was such a joy to work with as our wedding photographer. We had a range of people we were working with from caterers, wedding coordinator, etc. and she by far had the best communication and quickly aligned with what we were looking for in a photographer. She captured our day in such a beautiful and effortless way - she was present in all the special moments but we never noticed she was around. She seamlessly blended into the party and was quick to capture moments that we will remember forever. We can’t wait for another opportunity to work with Loren and highly recommend her if you are looking for a trusted and talented photographer to capture your special day. The only regret we have is not having her come to our Welcome party the day before our wedding.

    Loren Hansen.... Oh my gosh... Where to even start?! This beautiful lady is seriously THE. BEST. EVER!!! Our important day literally would not have been possible without her. We hired her for our engagement photos first, which were beyond stunning. Then lucked out and were able to snag her again for our wedding. She started the day bright and early at my Air BNB - naturally I was incredibly anxious getting ready for such an important day, and I cannot express enough how COMFORTABLE she made me feel. She is sooo easy going, and it never felt like a stuffy photo shoot. She was just casually taking beautiful & professional photos without disrupting us at all. Then she drove to the venue and snagged pics of the venue, vendors setting up, my husband-to-be getting ready with his parents, etc. Then of course the ceremony, friends & family, the couple, then the party. I mean, she was with us for 10 hours. She works her bootie off and it SHOWS. We had 80 guests at our wedding and she managed to get a photo of every single person. Perfect combination of staged & in the moment shots. If you don't hire Loren you are making a HUGE mistake. I would seriously consider her one of my friends at this point. She made such an impact and is just such an amazing human being. 20 OUT OF 5 STARS!! LOVE YOU LOREN!!
