Hi, I’m Julie! I’ve been photographing weddings for about ten years now (holy cow, do I feel old!), starting with photographing friends' weddings and quickly falling in love with the work. While I adore capturing gorgeous portraits of the bride and groom and the quiet (and sometimes chaotic!), beautiful moments during a wedding/elopement/engagement session, those ridiculous candid moments (like when a stranger offers you a fry on the boardwalk during your bridesmaid photos) truly make your day uniquely yours. I'd absolutely describe my style as a mixture of classic, artistic and photojournalism, but my heart lies in capturing candid moments.

ART IS LIFE. I am an exhibiting artist (showing primarily mixed-media sculpture, fine art photography and needlepoint) and have exhibited widely in the states. I earned my BFA in Photography from Rhode Island School of Design and have since earned my MFA in Studio Arts from Maine College of Art. I absolutely surround myself with art regularly, whether working in the studio, visiting museums, or checking out fellow artists' works in galleries. I think that my background in the arts gives me a unique perspective while photographing, and I truly do view each wedding, portrait or family session as a unique creation...a work of art.

We could not have asked for a better wedding photographer than Julie! From start to finish, she was absolutely incredible. She was so responsive and easy to communicate with during the planning process, and on the big day she went above and beyond to make sure we got every shot that mattered to us. Julie seamlessly traveled with us to multiple locations throughout the day, capturing everything beautifully while keeping the energy fun and stress-free. One of the biggest highlights was how quickly she delivered our photos—our full gallery was edited and ready before our honeymoon was even over! The images are stunning, and we’ll cherish them forever. Julie has such an amazing eye for detail and a gift for capturing genuine, natural moments. We are beyond grateful to have had her as our photographer and can’t recommend her highly enough to anyone looking for someone talented, professional, and truly dedicated to making your day unforgettable.

Julie was amazing to work with! We chose Wedding Package number 3 so we got engagement photos as well. It was my husband and I's first time getting professional photos, and Julie made it stress-free and fun! She gave us very simple directions for her photos and they all came out fantastic, even with it still being March and several inches of snow still on the ground. Our engagement photo session and the photos themselves made us confident in our choice to hire Julie as our wedding photographer. Day of the wedding Julie was just as fun and easy going to work with. She captured pre-ceremony moments and got some great candids of our guests. Julie asked us a few weeks before the wedding what photos we wanted to capture day of, and she made sure she got all of them. It rained most of our wedding day, and Julie was a trooper and still took pictures outside with us! I want to write more, but I don't want to carry on too much. Julie will not disappoint, she is phenomenal!

Julie made us and all our people look so freakin good, and captured the energy and the movement of so many moments so well. She has a lot of talent when it comes to using light to make her photos pop, and she knows how to do so in low light, with the sun behind the subject, etc. Feeling such appreciation for her and all the care she put into capturing the day so well. All of our friends and family members have loved them too. We'll certainly cherish them forever.

Julie K. Gray Photography was wonderful to work with! Their communication was effective and professional throughout the entire process. The quality of their work was beautiful, warm, and amazing. Julie was so nice and wonderful to work with - she made the entire experience feel very warm and welcoming. We wouldn't have wanted any other photographer there with us on our special day. Julie was wonderful and we're so grateful she was able to capture all the special moments of our wedding.
