Hi, I’m Julie! I’ve been photographing weddings for about ten years now (holy cow, do I feel old!), starting with photographing friends' weddings and quickly falling in love with the work. While I adore capturing gorgeous portraits of the bride and groom and the quiet (and sometimes chaotic!), beautiful moments during a wedding/elopement/engagement session, those ridiculous candid moments (like when a stranger offers you a fry on the boardwalk during your bridesmaid photos) truly make your day uniquely yours. I'd absolutely describe my style as a mixture of classic, artistic and photojournalism, but my heart lies in capturing candid moments.

ART IS LIFE. I am an exhibiting artist (showing primarily mixed-media sculpture, fine art photography and needlepoint) and have exhibited widely in the states. I earned my BFA in Photography from Rhode Island School of Design and have since earned my MFA in Studio Arts from Maine College of Art. I absolutely surround myself with art regularly, whether working in the studio, visiting museums, or checking out fellow artists' works in galleries. I think that my background in the arts gives me a unique perspective while photographing, and I truly do view each wedding, portrait or family session as a unique creation...a work of art.

We are BEYOND thrilled that we chose Julie to capture our wedding. My wife and I had a destination wedding in Kennebunkport, Maine so choosing vendors was really just based on doing our own research and combing through reviews. From start to finish, everything with Julie was incredible. She really understood what we wanted and that aligned perfectly with her vibrant and candid style. She was so efficient on the day of the wedding as well so we were able to enjoy what we put together. She truly has an amazing eye, book her!

Julie K. Gray Photography was a joy to work with for our wedding photography. Julie was extremely responsive throughout the planning process and made us feel at ease in front of the camera on our big day. She and her second shooter arrived ready to go and knew exactly what shots we wanted. Both she and Ethan had a warm, friendly demeanor and were flexible working with our changing schedule and requests. The quality of Julie's work is fantastic - she captured all the special moments of our wedding beautifully with her artistic eye. We were very impressed that we received our finished wedding photos less than a week after the event! Overall, Julie was professional, prompt, and so easy to work with. We loved working with Julie! The photos came out beautifully. She directed us to some posed shots but also made us feel comfortable enough for some great candids. We’d work with her again in a heartbeat!
