After celebrating my own 16th wedding anniversary, my partner and I have truly been able to reflect on what is important on a wedding day, and I'm here to bring the wisdom to you! I believe that digital photography and images are a HUGE gift and can provide us with so many more memories than we were previously able to retain. And, just like reading a physical book vs. an e-book, prints hit different. You're not photographing your own wedding — you're trusting a professional to lead you through the best experience you can have and to give you the best art you can get.
So why would a photographer make you design and order your own album or gallery wall? I've got the tools to make you custom designs that tell your story, and professional printers at my fingertips that will make you long-lasting, consciously constructed art that will outlast you. To get there, our connection is the most important thing! I believe there is a photographer out there for everyone. If you believe that your wedding day is about YOU, that it should be fun, and that we all have a responsibility to take care of our environment, then we would be the perfect fit! Amazing!!
Our wedding day was a bit - unconventional. Jess was willing to work with us on that - and supported us throughout. Prompt and professional, she asked us questions that we'd have never thought of asking in the planning stage. Rather than leave the day to improvisation and inspiration, she helped us sort through what mattered. As a result, the pictures we got reflect the spirit of the day: joyful and goofy, complete with tears, depth, and so much laughter. We got amazing couples pictures - including a re-enactment of Grant Woods' American Gothic - and photos that represent our South Minneapolis queer community at its best, hamming it up for the camera. And Jess was ready to capture it all. She directed us when needed - as the light demanded - and listened when we made suggestions. We are so grateful - and impressed with the album we got. We would hire her again in a heartbeat.

Best Wedding Photographer in the GALAXY
Jessica is the best. Hands down. Hire her immediately and never look back. She is a master of her craft. She was fun but professional, everyone loved her, and the photos are beyond anything I could have hoped for. We were not the easiest customers. First, our venue was a museum, not a wedding venue, so she had to be creative and work around a space not designed for weddings. Jessica was unperturbed. She considered everything: where the sun would hit, what time to be where, and how to account for different types of weather. At the end of the day, the photos look like they were not taken in a museum, but belong in a museum. Second, my husband does not like being in photos or having any attention on him whatsoever. When told to smile for the camera, he usually makes a face like he just smelled bad eggs. I do not know what kind of wizard Jessica is, but she is definitely magic. She put him at ease and managed to capture sincere, loving looks. Third, she indulged and hyped up all of my silly ideas, like our first look, which I did in an inflatable dinosaur costume. She reflected exactly the balance of quirky and classy I was going for in our photos. When I got engaged, I envisioned being surrounded by my closest, most cherished friends and family. I did not think about the fact that there would also be a virtual stranger there trying to catch it all on tape. Jessica and I spent almost the entire day together, and it was great. She managed to capture intimate moments without ever being intrusive, but she was not a wallflower either. She was helpful, fun, and truly a joy to be around, making a special day even more special.

Beautiful pictures!
We had a wonderful experience with Jessica Knighton Photography. Even though we booked last minute, Jessica was kind, communicative, and incredibly helpful the whole way through. She went above and beyond—helping coordinate the location and even providing beautiful florals. Our wedding photos turned out absolutely stunning, and we couldn’t be happier. Highly recommend!

We found Jess through the Professional Photographers Association and honestly she feels like the MVP of our wedding! She is a fantastic photographer, great human to work with, and so much more. She came to our pre-session discussion with a general day-of schedule, provided phenomenal recommendations for DJ/Hair/Makeup, and brought many great ideas to make our big day run even smoother. Additionally, her website and support materials provided a lot of helpful information in preparing for both a photoshoot and wedding. Given how daunting planning this day can be, the help was beyond appreciated. Coming back to the pictures, our photo sessions were fun, creative, and the final pictures were stunning, we can't wait to hang them all over our house!
