I'm Jaimie. I live in Joshua Tree, CA with my husband, daughter, and cats. I photograph people, a lot of times on 35mm film, including people getting married. (This seems like a good place to mention I am particularly fond of non-traditional weddings in non-traditional places with lots of color, shot on film.)

What I do best is to document what it felt like to be there. I don't give an ish about recreating trends... tbh I abhor social media and performativeness. What I want is to tell a story as objectively as possible, from as many perspectives as possible, because I want couples to look back through their photos and feel something. Because at the end of the day, your wedding photos are for you and yours. Not strangers on the internet. So like, if you also love the perfectly imperfect parts of life that make us who we are, then yeah. We should probably chat and see if the vibe is right.

    Beautiful

    We could not have asked for a better wedding photographer! From the very beginning, she was incredibly helpful in creating our wedding day timeline and making sure everything flowed smoothly. On the wedding day, she made us feel completely relaxed and comfortable in front of the camera, which made such a difference. The photos turned out absolutely stunning. Her editing style is beautiful, and she captured so many special moments and amazing shots that we will treasure forever. She has a true talent for finding the perfect angles, lighting, and candid moments. We are beyond grateful for her professionalism, creativity, and kindness throughout the entire process.     Jaimie is Wonderful! Highly Recommend

    Jaimie was so wonderful for both our engagement photos and our wedding day. She has a magical way of making you love every photo and she truly captures all the emotions. Jaimie was so calm, cool, and collected which was must needed on our wedding day. We never felt like we were posing during our wedding, but knew she was capturing all the great moments. Our guests raved about how she was somehow everywhere during the night! We are so grateful we chose her for these special moments.

    Thank Goodness for Jaimie

    I got married in Kansas about two weeks ago and Jaimie was our photographer. She was unbelievably helpful during the planning process from clearly explaining her prices to helping us work out a day of timeline as well as a great resource to have day of (she helped my bridesmaids steam their dresses and pinned boutonnières)! We paid Jaimie to travel for our wedding and the pricing for that was incredibly reasonable. Her efficiency and vision during family photos was great and we were able to get all the photos we wanted taken done before the ceremony despite running slightly behind on time. During the getting ready she was a perfect combination of part of the action and letting us enjoy our party and our guests without interruption. I got multiple comments from family about how great she was. We haven’t received our photos yet since the wedding was only two weeks ago but I will update with pics when we get them. I have no doubt I will be over the moon with them!!

    The best wedding photographer

    Jaimie’s photos are wonderful. More than that, she herself was a pleasure to work with. She communicated clearly, was professional, got along with everyone, and fun to work with. She knew all of the best places to go and angles to shoot from. She knew how to make our day feel special, and she got all of the shots without making us feel any pressure or time crunch. She withstood the St. Louis heat and humidity like it was nothing as well - what an incredible feat! She is a fantastic photographer and human and I am so glad we had the privilege of having her document this special day.

    Incredible!

    Jaimie was fantastic to work with! She was easy to communicate with, responded quickly, understood our vision, withstood the HOT St. Louis weather, and captured the most beautiful photos of our medium sized wedding. She got along well with everyone, from kids to elderly family members. She is efficient, experienced, and overall just plain talented.

Documentary-style wedding photography captures real, unscripted moments throughout your wedding day, focusing on genuine emotions and interactions without posing and staging important moments and events. I give couples and moments room to breathe, so I can deliver photos that you can feel.
My approach is centered on authenticity and storytelling. Rather than directing or staging moments, I document the real experiences and emotions that make your day unique. When couples look at their wedding photos, I want them to go back to that moment in time, with each other, and their loved ones — not think about me, the photographer, and what I was telling them to do. I believe that it’s okay to make your wedding day more about your experience than the photos. It makes more sense to me to document couples having the time of their lives on their wedding day, than to put couples in front of pretty scenes and tell them to smile.
While I primarily focus on capturing candid moments, there are points during the day when I will take charge and give direction, like during family and group photos — I’m all about efficiency and making things as easy as possible when it comes to those important group photos. During portrait time, it’s an ebb and flow of stepping back and giving gentle guidance. The most important thing for me is creating a safe space where my couples feel comfortable enough to let their guard down and just be themselves together.
Absolutely! I welcome any specific requests or must-have shots you have in mind and will incorporate them into the natural flow of the day.
I am experienced in working with various lighting conditions and use professional equipment for high-quality images, even in low-light settings. I always bring my own light, just enough to illuminate the area in a way that doesn’t disturb guests or change the feeling of the atmosphere in your photos. If you had a candle-lit dinner, it should look like a candle-lit dinner in your wedding photos. I strive to maintain the overall original feeling of the atmosphere in my images.
My packages include a specified number of hours of coverage, high-resolution edited images, and an online gallery for viewing and sharing photos. I’ll work closely with you before the wedding day to nail down the perfect timeline, select photo locations, and help figure out anything else you need so you can stress less.
Yes, I offer engagement and couple’s adventure sessions, which are a great way to get comfortable in front of the camera and create additional memories leading up to your wedding.
To book, you can contact me directly through my website or Zola profile. A signed contract and a non-refundable 30% retainer are required to secure your date, with the remaining balance due three weeks before your wedding date. You’ll get your own online portal where you’ll have access to your contract, invoice, and any questionnaires. This gives you the option to log into your portal and make payments towards the balance at any point in time. Easy-peasy, no printing anything and no going to the post office.
