About J. Claire Photography, LLC

J. Claire Photography, LLC

Owner & Photographer

I started my photography journey as a middle schooler when I was gifted my first DSLR as a Christmas present. I turned it into a real, legal business in college as a way to earn some money in my free time. Now, I am running an actual business in my 20's, meeting the most amazing people, and developing lasting relationships with my clients (which is the best part of the job, in my opinion). I am always learning and doing my best to improve, but am so thankful for the opportunities that photography has brought me and the connections that I have made along the way.

I truly love capturing unposed, genuine photos. The small glance that you share with your partner on your wedding day that no one else notices or the hug with your best friend or parent in the corner of the room during a busy reception-- these are the moments that I believe deserve to be documented and remembered. I guess you could call this a photojournalistic or documentary style. However, I know the posed shots are important, so I have found that incorporating both styles makes for the best overall wedding album. I work with each couple to learn about their preferences to determine whether they would like more posed or candid shots. :)

At this point, I do not offer video services. I prefer focusing on photography only, so you can get the best wedding pictures possible. Someday, I would love to partner with an amazing videographer to offer a unique and all-inclusive package!
Depending on the size of your wedding, I may bring an assistant photographer, especially if you are expecting to have a large wedding with many guests. In my experience, smaller weddings/elopements usually do not require an assistant/associate photographer. Don’t worry, an assistant/associate photographer will never cost you extra.
Absolutely! All final images will be edited to fit my unique style and will be edited for color, saturation, exposure, and sharpness to ensure they look beautiful and all flow together as much as possible. I also offer retouching services (including blemish removal, teeth whitening, skin smoothing, etc.) for an additional charge.
My turnaround time varies by season, usually depending on how busy I have been and how many albums I must deliver in that time frame. Typically, you’ll be able to view your photos online about 3-4 weeks after your wedding, but I will send sneak peaks to hold you over in the meantime! Once everything is edited and ready to go, I will send your photos through an online gallery so you can share the photos with your loved ones and order prints!
