We’re creators, travelers, and artists, but foremost: storytellers. Every wedding is a personal project for us, with unique couples, love stories, families and locations. We strive to tell that story through our lens, and create a one-of-a-kind piece of artwork you can enjoy for a lifetime.

We create natural, elegant photos by bringing out the uniqueness of each couple in a fun and relaxed way. We especially love venues with character, and love to incorporate elements of nature or the surrounding environment.

Disappointing Overall

While there are some photos from our wedding day that we love and are grateful to have, our overall experience working with Christian, Brendan, and Eric was disappointing. I provided a clear and detailed list of the photos and moments we wanted captured on our wedding day, but it was completely ignored with many important moments missed. We believed having two photographers meant that most moments would be captured. However, there are no photos of our dinner, no photos with my grandmother, amongst others. One of the most frustrating parts of the experience was that I had rented a house on the water specifically to have photos with the ocean in the background and Christian refused to take any group pictures near the water. Instead, he insisted on taking our group photos on a hill, which made everyone look awkward and uneven in the shots. It was completely unnecessary and made the photos look strange and poorly thought out. Overall, Christian’s approach felt rigid and impersonal, and that came through in the final images. During our portrait session, he directed my husband and me to repeat the same handful of forced poses in different locations, despite our request for more natural, candid shots that reflected who we are as a couple. As a result, the photos felt generic and didn’t allow our personalities to shine through the way we had hoped. Brendan was more responsive and adaptable to our needs and overall vibe throughout the day. Without him, I fear we may not have gotten any photos. I shared these concerns with Eric after the wedding, once we received the photos. While I greatly appreciate his willingness to discuss my concerns, I ultimately did not feel heard. We remember certain group and couple photos taken, yet they weren’t included in the final gallery. Eric was able to “find” and send over some additional images that had initially been left out, and after further follow-up, he located even more. Overall, the process was frustrating and left me feeling like many some photos were never delivered.

From our first interaction with Indigo & Ivory, we knew we were in good hands. Their friendly, caring, and thorough communication style put us at ease and made the entire photography process feel reassuring. The quality of Eric, Athel and Brendan's work is truly breathtaking - timeless, artistic, and incredibly emotive. They captured both the big, special moments as well as all the small, intimate details that made our wedding day so unique and meaningful. Indigo & Ivory's talent allowed us to relive our celebration through their stunning, breathtaking photographs. We are beyond thrilled with the results and would highly recommend them to any couple looking for wedding photographers who will make you feel comfortable while delivering work that is nothing short of exceptional.

We just received our photos back from our wedding about a month ago, and we were blown away. We had a feeling the photos would be wonderful because of how professional and attentive our photographer (Athel) was, but of course there is always still that suspense. The team at Indigo and Ivory was wonderful throughout the entire process, always communicative, and it felt like they really cared. Athel even drove a good distance to attend an open house with us at our venue, to get some ideas ahead of time around what settings would be best. He was lovely throughout the whole event, super accommodating of our special requests, and captured all the most important moments. We cannot recommend them enough, the images came out amazing and we are getting tons of compliments! If there is anything I would do differently (and this is not any knock on Indigo and Ivory, this is just general advice for anyone looking to hire any photographer), I probably would have went ahead and added a second photographer for the day (which is something they offer). I wanted to cut costs a bit so we didn't go for it - but of course if you have two you will make sure to get all the different angles you are hoping for and then each person can spend a bit more time with both wedding parties to capture more of those candid moments. I also wish I had made sure to put together a better list of shots that I wanted - once again, these are items that I recommend in general and has nothing to do with Indigo and Ivory. If there are certain things you want your photographer to capture, make sure to write them down and communicate! With all that being said, even if you go with just one photographer and you happen to forget to write down all the specific moments or you just want things to be more free-flow - I 100% recommend Indigo and Ivory for you! They are wonderful and I'm so happy we have these gorgeous images to treasure for years to come.

As a videographer, much of the wedding day is dictated by how well the vendors work together to capture the story of the bride and groom as it unfolds on their special day. Whenever I see Indigo & Ivory as the photography team, I know it's going to be a wonderful experience for everyone. I've known the folks at I&I for many years and beyond being an excellent choice for a couple, they're a gracious company who has made many referrals for my business. They are talented, hard working, creative, and truly accommodating - which means a couple is going to experience a truly fun and carefree day. I can't say enough about Indigo & Ivory. Don't hesitate...book them now... ...and listen closely to their video recommendations :)
