Lead Photographer

I'm Rayben, Mississippi-based wedding photographer, literature teacher, hopeless romantic, and professional sentimentalist. I'm a sucker for happy tears, big belly laughs, and the little moments you don't realize someone is capturing. When I'm not behind the camera, I'm probably reading, teaching, or talking about fictional characters like they're my actual friends. I have an ACOTAR tattoo, an unreasonable attachment to mini Dr Pepper, and absolutely no shame about crying during your vows. I want your photos to feel like you: genuine, a little messy, and full of life. Mississippi-based, but always up for an adventure wherever your wedding takes me!

I shoot both digital and film, blending nostalgia and artistry to create timeless wedding galleries. My literature-teacher brain means I'm always noticing the little details and reading between the lines. I want your photos to feel like a favorite piece of classic literature: layered, romantic, and worth revisiting. As one bride put it, I make “our memories real.” I also believe your photographer should be someone you genuinely enjoy having around. I'll hype you up all day, appreciate the little things, and definitely make at least one sarcastic comment along the way.

    Rayben is great to work with! Not only is her pictures and talent amazing, but she’s the type of person who genuinely loves what she does. She has a passion for people and her work. She has helped in more ways than just capturing a few photos. She makes you feel so welcomed, even before you step in front of her camera. Who she is as a person speaks volumes and her work is incredible.

    Rayben is the BEST! She knew exactly what to do to get my wild, crazy, sleepy children to pose and smile for pictures after a long day at school. It’s been a few days, and they keep asking to go see Mrs. Rayben again. She sent me sneak peeks pretty quickly and I am OBSESSED.

Typically, couples book me between 14-18 months before their wedding date. I encourage you to reach out as soon as possible about my availability, even if you’re planning on a shorter time frame.
My turnaround time varies by season, but all weddings receive sneak peeks within 24 hours! Typically, you’ll be able to view your full gallery online about 6-8 weeks after your wedding, so you can share the photos with your loved ones and order prints.
I do! Just let me know if your venue requires a certificate of liability, and I’ll send that over to them!
In my 11 years of experience as a wedding photographer, I’ve never cancelled a booking. In the very rare event that I’m unable to photograph your wedding, I’ll make sure you’re covered by one of my colleagues or my contracted assistant. I’ll also provide you with a list of photographers from the many networking groups I’m in, so you can find the perfect replacement.
My photography style is romantic, film-inspired, cinematic, and rooted in genuine moments. I rely heavily on light, movement, emotion, and connection to create imagery that feels natural, nostalgic, and alive. I blend a documentary approach with gentle direction and shoot both digital and 35mm film, bringing an authentic analog feel to your wedding gallery. Oh yes! I love traveling and going to new places and will go anywhere for your big day. I have a set rate to cover travel costs (hotel, flights, Ubers, etc.) for parts of the country and international options too. Check out my bucket list locations too and in some locations I have some special discounts on.
