Will you edit all our pictures?

Every picture you receive will be hand-edited by Andy and reviewed by Gillian (who loves to humiliate Andy, so she'll be looking hard). We edit in a clean, natural style because tastes change and highly edited photos just look dated in a few years.

Question 2

Do you work with assistants or other photographers?

Accepted Answer

We work as a family team, and we don't differentiate between 1st/2nd photographer or have additional assistants. We help each other and split up as needed. For getting ready, Carly or Gillian usually goes with the girls and Andy goes with the boys, but every wedding is different and we make the best plan for your day!

Do you also offer video services?

Accepted Answer

No, sorry! They are two very different jobs, and we focus on photography only. Ask us for recommendations, though!

Question 4

How long will it take to see our pictures?

Accepted Answer

We are fast! Our contract guarantees your pictures within 30 days, but we strive to deliver completed galleries within two or three weeks. We don't generally do official "sneak previews", but couples are welcome to provide an iPhone number and we love to share images via iMessage while we edit.

Question 5

How far in advance should we book you for our wedding?

Whenever you're ready to pick a photographer! Lots of couples book us more than a year out - but there are always some free days in our calendar, so it never hurts to get in touch even if the wedding is coming right up.

Question 6

Should I book a second photographer?

Accepted Answer

Yes! A second photographer gives you more angles and more chances to catch candid moments. So you'll get more pictures and variety with two; plus, we love working together!

Should I book an engagement session?

Accepted Answer

We don't require an engagement session, but it's nice because we get a chance to meet and work together before your wedding, and you'll get some practice posing! But you can save some money by skipping it. If you're deciding between an engagement session and a second wedding day photographer, we recommend the second photographer.

What do you cost?

Short answer - like $3000 depending on what you need. But we have an interactive price calculator at bemontphoto.com/pricing, because we love transparent pricing when we shop and want to give the same experience. When in doubt, 8 hours and 2 photographers is ideal for most weddings.

Do you have insurance?

I do! Just let me know if your venue requires a certificate of liability, and I’ll send that over to them.

How many pictures will we get?

Accepted Answer

It varies based on so many things - a "typical" wedding (8 hours, 2 photographers, we're there for getting ready and dancing and everything in between) is often ~650. But it can be wildly different based on duration, weather, number of guests, dance-party vibes, number of family photos, and a million of things, so we've delivered anywhere from 400-900 in the past year.

What’s your back-up plan if you can’t photograph our wedding as planned?

Accepted Answer

We've never cancelled a booking. If some crisis prevented us from fulfilling our contract to photograph your wedding, we'd refund everything you've paid us and help you find a new photographer. In the more realistic event that we promised two photographers and could only bring one, we'd refund the cost of the second photographer. We'd also give you the opportunity to cancel the contract for a full refund, even if we've already done your engagement session. This has also never happened.

How would you handle another COVID scenario?

Accepted Answer

During COVID, most couples cancelled or postponed their weddings. We did not refund deposits, but we allowed couples to move their wedding date. Only one couple chose a new date we weren't available for, and we gave them two free family photo shoots to make up for their lost deposit.

Question 13

How does payment work?

Accepted Answer

We require a $1000 deposit to secure your wedding date. The rest is due whenever you'd like your wedding pictures! Plenty of couples pay us after the wedding - we just don't edit or deliver any photos until we're paid. We prefer Venmo, but cash, check, and credit card are available.
