Hi, I’m Cathy Melando—Congrats on your engagement! I’m a registered officiant in NJ and licensed in NY. I create personalized, meaningful ceremonies that reflect each couple’s unique love story. I also write custom scripts for first-time officiants. Whether you're planning a small gathering or a big celebration, I offer traditional or modern ceremonies for all couples. Since 2010, it’s been an honor to celebrate love in all forms: straight, gay, and lesbian. Let’s make your ceremony as unique and unforgettable as you are!

I write my own personalized ceremonies. Whether you want a classic romantic ceremony or one that reflects your passions, I’m here to make it happen! I’ve crafted Disney-inspired vows, Game of Thrones-style declarations, and even spooky Halloween weddings. Some favorite themes: classic romance, humor, rock or hip hop, fantasy (GoT, LOTR), gaming, Disney magic, and seasonal (Valentine’s, Christmas, Halloween). If you can dream it, I can write it—each ceremony is fully personalized to reflect your story, style, and vision for your perfect day.     We hired Cathy to do a pre-wedding license signing at our local coffee shop. She knew exactly what to do with all the forms so we knew we were in good hands. Even with Cathy's special attention to detail, the actual signing was over pretty quickly, and we spent the rest of the afternoon just chatting with her and our 2 witnesses! It was so much fun. She asked thoughtful questions about us and our relationship, and offered her own stories which ranged from cute and inspiring to crazy and hilarious! I think she'd be a great fit for any couple because she has a knack for understanding people right away, and she's so fun and social. She'll give you whatever day you want to have.

    We had such a great experience with Cathy. Her communication is always so clear, and timely with her responses. Shes very knowledgeable about the marriage license process which helped the whole legal aspect of the ceremony be a breeze. The ceremony itself also was so personal and tailored to us as a couple, and we got the chance to review this prior to the day of. She definitely has a lot of experience and helpful prompts to get to know you and make the experience more unique to you, but didn’t make it feel too high pressure. Would highly recommend Cathy to any and every couple!
