Rabbi / Officiant

Modern. Soulful. Unforgettable. I custom-craft non-religious, Jewish, interfaith, and LGBTQ+ weddings that grab all the feels. Your love is one-of-a-kind — and your wedding ceremony should be, too. Blending tradition with a fresh perspective, honoring every story, and presenting warmth, heart, and just the right touch of humor, I strive to create customized wedding ceremonies as unique as you are. Whether you're planning a beach wedding, rooftop celebration, or backyard gathering, I’ll meet you there.

As an experienced officiant who believes in love, inclusion, and making your ceremony the true highlight of your day, I take the time to get to know you—your story, your vibe, your vision. As I compose your ceremony, I start from scratch, taking all I've learned from you and creating a ceremony that honestly reflects who you are and what your love means. Whether Jewish, interfaith, spiritual, or secular, every word is meaningful and every moment is yours. I bring warmth, heart, and just enough humor to keep it real — and unforgettable.

    fantastic officiant!

Rabbi Astrachan was the perfect officiant for our interfaith wedding! From our very first conversation, he took the time to understand our story, listened to what was important to each of us, and crafted a beautiful ceremony that felt deeply personal and completely authentic. During the ceremony, he thoughtfully explained each tradition so every guest felt included, making the experience meaningful for everyone in the room. While he isn’t the least expensive option, he is worth every penny for the care, expertise, and heart he brings. And as an added bonus, his singing voice is absolutely incredible! We feel so fortunate that he was the one who married us, and we look forward to having him be part of our family’s future milestones for years to come.

    Amazing Officiant Alert!!!

Jeffrey did an incredible job officiating our wedding ceremony. He created a ceremony that felt deeply personal and truly reflected our relationship. It was clear that he invested a great deal of time and thought into making it exactly what we envisioned. Every time we met with him leading up to the wedding, Jeffrey was organized, professional, and attentive to every detail. He guided us through the logistics of obtaining our marriage license in another state and took the time to genuinely understand what was most important to us for the ceremony. Thanks to his preparation and care, our ceremony felt meaningful, seamless, and uniquely ours. We couldn't have been happier with the experience and would highly recommend him to any couple looking for an officiant who goes above and beyond.

    Incredible rabbi!

Rabbi Astrachan is such a warm and wonderful person. We feel so fortunate that he was part of our wedding celebration -- he truly made it. So many of our guests said that our ceremony was the most beautiful they'd seen, and that is truly due to Rabbi Astrachan's commitment to personalization, emotion, and getting to know my (now) husband and me as individuals and as a couple. We are so happy to have met him and hope to continue to have him in our lives -- he's too great for just one life cycle event! Can't recommend him highly enough. Thank you!

    Rabbi Astrachan is amazing!

We are so grateful that we found Rabbi Astrachan for our wedding. Our ceremony was perfect! Our guests kept commenting on how heartfelt, personalized and special it was. We had an interfaith wedding, and he did an amazing job making every guest feel included and connected throughout the ceremony. He explained the traditions and Hebrew elements in a way that was engaging and easy for everyone to follow. One of the things that stood out most was how naturally he handled unexpected moments. We got married on the rooftop at The Florida Aquarium, and right in the middle of the ceremony the cruise ship horns started blasting and loud music began playing from the ships. Instead of it feeling disruptive, he seamlessly incorporated the moment with humor and grace, and it just blended with the rest of the ceremony. Rabbi Astrachan is not only an incredible officiant, but also a genuinely wonderful person. He made us feel comfortable and supported throughout the entire process, and he played such a huge part in making our wedding day unforgettable. We truly could not have imagined a better person to marry us!

    The Best!

We had the absolute privilege of having Rabbi Astrachan officiate our wedding, and it’s hard to put into words how meaningful the experience was. From our very first conversation, he brought warmth, wisdom, and a genuine interest in getting to know us as individuals and as a couple. He took the time to understand our story, our values, and what we wanted our ceremony to feel like. The result was something deeply personal, thoughtful, and beautifully balanced between tradition and our own unique touches. So many of our guests told us it was one of the most moving and memorable ceremonies they’ve ever witnessed. His presence was calm and grounding, yet full of heart and even moments of humor that made everything feel natural and joyful. He guided us through the entire process with care and clarity, making what could have felt overwhelming actually feel meaningful and intentional. If you’re looking for an officiant who will truly honor your relationship and create a ceremony that feels authentic and unforgettable, we cannot recommend him highly enough.

I was ordained in 1997 and have been celebrating couples for nearly 30 years.
In total, I have officiated at over 200 weddings. Since 2022, I average 15-20 weddings per year.
Absolutely!!! That is the hallmark of my process. Every ceremony I conduct is individually crafted to reflect the life and love the couple. I am always happy to incorporate your family customs, traditions, and heritage; perhaps you want to have guests involved with readings or other ritual elements. Maybe you'd like a unity ritual (handfasting, sand blending, etc). Let's discuss your thoughts and see how we can make it work.
If I am available, I am always happy to join you for your rehearsal. While not included in my fee, I am always happy to discuss my involvement.
Absolutely! If you are already legally married and have a legal State-issued marriage certificate, we can absolutely celebrate your love with a public ceremony.
YES! YES! YES! I have been an ally as long as I can remember. It is truly in my DNA to welcome all couples wherever they are on the spectrum of love and life.
YES! YES! YES! As a rabbi, I love to meet couples wherever they are on the spectrum of love and life.
Definitely! Shabbat is about celebrating life. What better way to acknowledge the life we're living than to celebrate your marriage on the Sabbath?
Definitely! I'd be more than happy to recommend vendors (and suggest staying away from some!!!), as well as work with your vendor to customize/personalize your document. OR, I have a ketubah that I'm always happy to personalize for you if you're looking for something a little simpler and more modest.
Domestically, I'll travel wherever my car, a train, or an airplane can take me. - While based in Florida, I officiate weddings in New York, DC, Baltimore, or wherever your ceremony will be. Internationally, my passport is always valid! I'll go wherever your ceremony takes me. Just keep in mind, I have to adhere to all local and international laws. I always recommend that couples get legally married in the US before heading off to their destination country for their public ceremony. It's MUCH easier that way.
I absolutely DO! Most of the couples I work with are either interfaith (one is Jewish) or non-religious at all. I am always happy to set aside my personal connection with my faith to create the perfect ceremony for your needs and interests. I have worked with several couples who are observant in their own faith tradition but wanted my personal flair and attention to be a part of their ceremony.
Whatever it is... not likely. Exception for the requirement of a valid state-issue marriage license (or a valid marriage certificate proving you are already married), there are very few things that you "HAVE TO" do. Let's discuss your specific concerns and see what we can work out together to make your ceremony perfect for you.
In all likelihood, YES! I try to be very flexible in all that I do when I'm working with couples. Everyone is unique and will have requests that are special to them. I'm not likely to jump out of a plane for you, but I am pretty open to trying new things. Don't be shy. Try me!
