The contract issue came down to an honest typo in your email address because there were two “e”s and one was missed. That was a simple human error, not a refusal to communicate or provide services. I forwarded the time stamped email with the contract and you pointed out the typo that I missed. The email address was slightly different from your full government name so it was a very easy mistake. And I owned up to that immediately and apologized. I was unaware that you hadn’t received your signed contract back to you for several weeks it was not brought to my attention. Your deposit was paid to hold your wedding date, and that date was reserved on my calendar. Once a date is held, I turn away other inquiries, which is exactly why booking fees exist. To say I “pocketed” your deposit is simply untrue. I was prepared to provide the service, and the date was being held for you. While I understand your disappointment, the claims made in this review do not fully reflect what actually occurred.

Thank you for your feedback, Anyah. I do want to clarify the timeline, because this is not how I remember the situation. You and I had communicated extensively prior to booking, with over 20+ emails exchanged. You asked many questions, which I was happy to answer, and I consistently responded quickly, typically almost immediately and always within 24 hours, for over a month before you sent your deposit. When you finally sent the deposit it was a while since I had sent you the booking information, I was unaware that you were booking that day, as I was out of town at the time. That had been clearly stated on both my social media and in my email auto-reply. As soon as I returned, I created and sent your contract that same day. I have since forwarded you the original timestamped email containing the contract you stated you did not receive. After that, you emailed me to schedule your trial for a specific date. I confirmed that I was available and also let you know that the trial fee was separate and not included in your wedding booking. You then responded stating that your wedding was going in a different direction, without further explanation. At that point, I explained that the deposit was non-refundable which is stated on all booking forums. After that, the communication became hostile and threatening. Your mother also contacted me by both email and phone, and during that conversation she asked whether, if the deposit could not be refunded, it could instead be applied toward hair and makeup services while you were in town from New York. I told her absolutely yes, and that I would be happy to honor that. I simply asked that you reach back out to schedule it. Since then, I have not heard from either of you. I do have documentation of all communication and interactions regarding this matter. I wish you the best moving forward.
