Kelsey, I’m genuinely happy that you loved your hair and makeup and that everyone receiving services was happy with their results. A tremendous amount of time and care went into making sure you were happy, including approximately six hours over two separate hair trials. Two additional stylists from my salon also offered their expertise during that process. After the final trial, I even expressed that I was concerned I might not be the right stylist for you, but you chose to move forward with me, and I remained committed to achieving your vision. Because this review has now been posted across multiple platforms, I do feel it is important to clarify several details regarding the wedding-day timeline. With a nor’easter affecting travel that weekend, we personally paid for an Airbnb near the venue and traveled to the area the night before specifically to avoid weather or traffic interfering with your wedding morning. Our intention was to arrive early. Unfortunately, while checking out, we were required to return the key directly to the host and were delayed waiting for them to retrieve it. At 9:07 AM, your mother texted asking if we were on our way. I immediately responded that we were approximately two minutes away and explained the Airbnb checkout delay. This was communicated in real time that morning. I also want to clarify the 8:30 AM time referenced in this review. 8:30 was the earliest time the venue said we could enter for setup. The bridal party was not permitted to arrive until 9:00 AM, and the hair and makeup schedule you created and provided to us lists the first services beginning at 9:00 AM. We were behind that 9:00 AM start, and I take responsibility for that. I understand that any delay on a wedding morning can be stressful. However, I do not believe it is accurate to characterize us as nearly an hour late for an 8:30 scheduled arrival or as having a “complete disregard” for the timeline. Once we arrived, we immediately worked to make up the lost time. I have timestamped photos documenting our progress, including a 9:48 AM photo showing the first hairstyle already well underway. I also have a 2:08 PM timestamped photo of a completed hairstyle on an additional client who was not part of the bridal party and was not needed for scheduled photos. By then, the bridal-party hair services I was responsible for had been completed. For that reason, while I take responsibility for our delayed start, I cannot agree that it caused the wedding to ultimately run approximately an hour behind or that the timeline was “doomed from the start.” There are many moving parts to a wedding day, and I can only speak to the services for which we were responsible. We welcome constructive feedback and take responsibility when something is ours to own. We simply ask that the documented timeline and circumstances be represented accurately as well. Most importantly, I’m glad that after all the time and care invested in your wedding, you loved your hair and makeup and your bridal party was happy with our work.
