About Owens BBQ

Ramon Owens

Pitmaster & Owner

Owens BBQ is real Texas barbecue, made in Los Angeles. I’m Ramon Owens. I was born in San Bernardino and raised in Houston by a single mom alongside three siblings, and Houston is where I learned the pit. In 2024 I opened Owens BBQ, and today we slow-smoke USDA Prime brisket, Duroc pork and Mary’s chicken over real wood for weddings, parties and family celebrations across LA and Orange County. Plates, utensils, sauce, pickles and bread are always included, and leftovers stay with you.

Everything is bought and smoked fresh just for your order, using USDA Prime brisket, Duroc pork and Mary’s chicken over real wood. Pricing is simple and upfront: packages start at $35 a guest with plates, utensils, sauce and bread included. You choose the service level, from hot drop-off to a buffet setup with chafing dishes, or full service with two servers and cleanup. And you work directly with the pitmaster from your first message to the last plate.

Let’s start off with great friendly customer service. Most of the time you never see the pitmaster but here he’s actually giving you your food. I got a brisket slider and a rib slider. The meat is tender, and the barbecue sauce has some sweetness to it. I never thought to put pickled onion on barbecue and it’s delicious.

Darn good bbq! Brisket is flavorful and tender even without BBQ sauce, the bark and seasoning on the meat is delicious. The Beef Sausage is smokey with some kick to it, definitely a standout meat optional. Ribs are tender and also seasoned really well. The BBQ sauce is tangy just how I like it. Bonus points for awesome service, the pit master came out to give us juicy pieces of brisket to eat while he prepared our tray. Thx for being so welcoming and making delicious food!
