With his background in nightlife event production as Music Director and resident DJ at Shrine Nightclub inside Foxwoods, Jason combines the high energy, smooth transition mixing style of a nightclub DJ with the refined experience and fun playlist of a wedding DJ to keep the dance floor rocking! All of our DJ's come from this background of skilled mixing.     Great to work with!

    Dawson Entertainment, and DJ Jake, are both great! The Dawson Entertainment team is super responsive to emails and they make it very easy for you to plan music out for the whole day with a very detailed spreadsheet. Jake was our DJ and was great too! He is very easy to talk to and made sure to take time on phone calls to make sure my wife, myself, and him were on the same page for all the music for the entire day. The day of the wedding Jake was on top of everything, which with a lot going on that day we really appreciated having one less thing to worry about. Would definitely recommend this group and Jake!

    Need to Book!!

    From the very beginning, working with DJ Dawson was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding! Jason was incredibly professional, organized, and easy to work with throughout the entire planning process. He took the time to understand exactly what we were looking for and made us feel completely confident that everything would run smoothly. On our wedding day, he absolutely exceeded our expectations. The music was perfect from start to finish, the transitions were seamless, and he did an amazing job reading the crowd. Our dance floor was packed all night long, and we've had so many guests tell us how much fun they had because of the music and energy he created. Jason also kept everything on schedule without ever making it feel forced. He struck the perfect balance of being engaging while still letting the focus remain on us and our celebration. If you're looking for a DJ who is professional, organized, responsive, and knows how to keep a party going, we cannot recommend DJ Dawson enough. Thank you for helping make our wedding day unforgettable!

    The Best Night of Our Life

    We had the best and easiest time working with Dawson! Amy and our DJ, TJ, were so responsive and helpful. They completely understood what we were looking for and then knocked it out of the park. Our guests all raved about the music the next day! We couldn't be happier to have worked with Dawson!

    Book these guys!!!

    Jake the and the team at Dawson Entertainment were absolutely terrific and really captured our personalities and preferences through the music selection all night. Every single person that attended our wedding commented on how awesome the DJ was!! The ceremony music and mic set up was perfect, accommodated our horses in the background, and everything flowed wonderfully throughout the rest of the night. So thank you Jake and team, you all are awesome!!!

    Do Yourself A Favor And Book Them!!

    We used Dawson Entertainment for our wedding on June 20th, 2026, at Jonathan Edwards Winery, and we have nothing but excellent things to say. When we had our initial meeting with DJ Jason a year prior, we were excited purely based on his DJ experience and confidence. As our wedding got closer and we met with other vendors, our caterer and venue, they were all praising Dawson Entertainment and Jason’s work. We met with Jason a month out from the wedding where we discussed every detail from ceremony prelude, procession, recession, reception entrance song, must plays, should plays, don't plays, first dance, parent dances, ect. After this meeting I was wondering how our wedding night was going to go as we requested songs from all sorts of genres and eras of music. Let me tell you, it was absolutely incredible. The day of the wedding, the process was seamless, Jason met with the officiant to mic him up, as well as myself (the groom), to mic me up. Everything went off without a hitch, everything was perfectly timed, and the reception was unreal. I couldn't believe how he was able to play everything we requested, from different genres, different eras, and made it all flow so well. There was never a lull in the music, the dancefloor was packed the whole night, and Jason was able to assess the crowd/tempo and mix songs accordingly. I now completely understand why everyone I spoke with had such high praise for him. He was professional, easy to work with, responsive, and made us feel confident the whole time. Finally, he is absolutely worth the money. I will let you check out his website, but I would have paid more for his performance than what he charged, his pricing is 100% reasonable. Like I said, if you have the opportunity to book with Dawson Entertainment, do it.

It's never a bad thing to listen to guest request, but we do use our best judgment to decide if we actually play a request or not, based on our past experience playing the song and our conversations with you, the couple hosting the event. Even if a song request will not quite fit the vibe of the event, it may guide us to play something similar that would work for the dance floor.

We arrive 1.5-2 hours before our start time for set up. We like to give plenty of time so we don't have to rush.

All taxes are included in the price.
We do not charge for setup or break down. We only charge from the time we start playing music at the beginning of the event until we stop playing music at the end of the event. Our travel radius is 2 hours from Griswold, CT. Anything beyond that would require a travel fee and/or hotel accommodations.
