All of our DJ's come from this background of skilled mixing.     Dawson Entertainment creates superior experiences. They exceeded our expectations. We highly recommend them. We worked directly with Jason Dawson, who was the MC and DJ for our wedding at the Rosecliff in Newport. His experience and achievements speak for themselves, and he certainly delivers as advertised. He facilitated detailed planning with ease and went the extra mile in curating a playlist we loved (including remixes of some classic songs that we wanted to hear but weren't conducive to dancing in their original form). He works closely with his clients to achieve the sound, look and that feel they want. We benefited greatly from his deep understanding of how to craft a musical playlist that (i) includes songs you love, (ii) effectively creates the atmosphere you seek, and (iii) manages / enhances your guests' energy. On the big day: the setup went on without a hitch, the audio both outside and inside were very high quality, volume was on point, his booth and equipment looked great, Jason was well dressed and professional, and his music was FANTASTIC.     Thank you Jason!!

    We truly cannot say enough great things about Jason! From our ceremony sound to the last song, he made our day so special! Our reception was UNREAL. The music was a 100/10, the dance floor stayed packed, and he did an amazing job reading the crowd and keeping the energy up. During the reception we had guests coming up saying how amazing he is (and are still texting us about it!) Jason is a true professional. He is thoughtful, fun, and genuinely cares about what you want for your day. If you're looking for a DJ, your search is over!

    Just like old times

    DJ JD... what else do you need to say? Still the same legend as he was at I-heart-Tuesdays! Accommodating, punctual, pleasant to work with, and extremely professional. He was able to walk us down the aisle to Cannon, first dances with some oldies for our oldies, and then shredded it like it was 2013 all over again at the end of the night. Seriously though, Jason did a stellar job and made our wedding one that everyone is still buzzing about a few weeks later. What a great time - and THANK YOU! Mr. & Mrs. Giuntoli

    If You Have the Opportunity To...HIRE THIS DJ

    Our DJ was absolutely unbelievable and, without question, one of the biggest highlights of our entire wedding weekend! So many of our guests told us he was their favorite part of the weekend, and people were commenting on his talent almost immediately after getting on the dance floor. One guest even said, “As a guy who goes to a lot of clubs and sees a lot of DJs, this guy is really talented.” That perfectly sums it up. He completely blew everyone away. His flow was flawless, his timing was perfect, and he knew exactly how to read the crowd. He seamlessly incorporated everything we had discussed ahead of time while still making the night feel spontaneous, exciting, and completely tailored to the energy in the room. Every transition, song choice, and moment felt intentional. He kept the dance floor alive and made the entire night feel truly special. We worked with him for nearly a year, and throughout the entire process he was flexible, professional, collaborative, and willing to do whatever it took to bring our ideas to life. He worked with us on custom mixes, followed through on every detail, communicated beautifully with us and our planners, and brought so much more to the table than we ever expected, including the uplighting and MCing. Even a playlist he created as background music for our beach party had guests commenting on how incredible it was. One of the most meaningful extras was that he recorded the full set and shared it with us afterward so we could relive the night. It has only been three weeks, and we have already listened to it so many times. Being able to hear the music, transitions, and energy again is such a gift. He was our favorite vendor and added an entirely new level of joy, excitement, and magic to the day. We were completely blown away by his talent, professionalism, creativity, flexibility, and ability to deliver on absolutely everything. We could not recommend him more highly, and we would choose him again a thousand times over! If you hire him, please invite us to your event!

    Great to work with!

    Dawson Entertainment, and DJ Jake, are both great! The Dawson Entertainment team is super responsive to emails and they make it very easy for you to plan music out for the whole day with a very detailed spreadsheet. Jake was our DJ and was great too! He is very easy to talk to and made sure to take time on phone calls to make sure my wife, myself, and him were on the same page for all the music for the entire day. The day of the wedding Jake was on top of everything, which with a lot going on that day we really appreciated having one less thing to worry about. Would definitely recommend this group and Jake!

It's never a bad thing to listen to guest request, but we do use our best judgment to decide if we actually play a request or not, based on our past experience playing the song and our conversations with you, the couple hosting the event. Even if a song request will not quite fit the vibe of the event, it may guide us to play something similar that would work for the dance floor.

We arrive 1.5-2 hours before our start time for set up. We like to give plenty of time so we don't have to rush.

All taxes are included in the price.
We do not charge for setup or break down. We only charge from the time we start playing music at the beginning of the event until we stop playing music at the end of the event. Our travel radius is 2 hours from Griswold, CT. Anything beyond that would require a travel fee and/or hotel accommodations.
