I have been a professional musician for my entire life. My mom was a music teacher & started me on piano at age 5. At 14, I discovered singing & the guitar. They have been a big part of my life since. I am an alum of Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA & toured the country extensively. Wedding receptions have always been my favorite because of the wonderful joyous feeling in the air. I enjoy putting on a great show & exceeding the client's expectations. I own a music school and understand that the customer is king. I've done over 300 weddings & always do my best to ensure that your special day is spectacular.

Avalon The Band provides a comprehensive entertainment experience for weddings. Rich offers complimentary consultations where couples can discuss their music tastes and other details. Soon-to-be newlyweds have full creative control over their songs and timeline, and Rich is happy to serve as the evening’s MC. The band is available to perform during the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. Avalon The Band has multiple sound systems, wireless mic options, and a full light show for the perfect live music experience for your special day!

Description

This is our 101 package + Ceremony sound which is VERY important so that guests can hear what’s going on. We can't stress enough the significance of proper amplified sound, especially for family members and older guests. We like to use a wireless mic on a stand for the couple so there's nothing on your faces for pictures.

    Hire them!

    Great sound, great vibes, great people! They were super easy to work with and made our wedding night great. If you are thinking about having live music I would go with these guys!

    The Perfect Wedding Band

    Rich and Avalon The Band played at our daughter's wedding. They were awesome! Rich's communications skills were great, prompt and informative. He lead us through what to expect and gave us insight as this was our first wedding we hosted. They were able to handle sound for the wedding ceremony and it was set up without having to remind or ask, which was appreciated. Rich helped us find a string duo to play during the wedding ceremony too. Rich guided us through the beginning of the reception and helped facilitate the order of speeches and again provided sound for that. The band is great, fun and people danced all night. Rich is kind, honest and works very hard to make sure we had what we wanted. What more can you ask for!

    Avalon The Band was awesome!

    Hi I just copied and pasted this from the review I sent over. This band was incredible!! I’m so happy we decided to go with them—they rocked all night! The number one thing guests were commenting on, I can’t tell you how many times I was asked, “Where did you FIND them?!” The songs they played were perfect; you can really tell they pay attention to the vibe of the crowd! They offer services for all sound needs throughout the day (mics for officiant, ceremony sound, cocktail hour, etc). Rich is an all-around good person: professional, kind, easy-going. Typically responds within a day, which I was so thankful for! And they’re completely affordable, it won’t cost you an arm and a leg to have great live music!! We knew we wanted a band but I hadn't had luck finding anyone close to us that was affordable, responsive, and had wedding experience, so we almost gave up and had a dj instead, but I'm so happy we found Avalon! I cannot say enough times they exceeded all expectations and made the reception so unforgettable! Thank you for all the energy and talent you brought to our special day!

We've performed at weddings of all shapes and sizes. We'll customize our attire to the feel of your reception. Suits, tuxes, smart casual, whatever the feel of your reception is, just let us know and we'll fit right in!
Absolutely. You can be as detailed as you'd like with guidance on songs to play or not to play and when they should happen. We can learn songs for special music as needed.
Yes, we also have multiple sound systems and are able to setup in different locations concurrently. We can provide microphones & music for ceremonies and cocktail hours. We have many different music options with our musicians on staff including acoustic guitar & vocals, piano, and string quartet.
We plan for receptions. We rehearse arrangements which are customized to YOUR set list. We keep the party going with no awkward silence between songs. All communication is directly through band leader Rich Burkholder so you can be assured that ALL your requests will happen! Our equipment is top of the line & tailored to your event. We know how it works & guarantee we will sound & look amazing!
Our timeline is customized to your plan for the day. Upon booking us you'll receive a Wedding Planner sheet which gives us basic information about the event. As the date nears, Rich Burkholder will meet with you in person to get a detailed timeline for the day. We arrive early enough to get all of our equipment loaded in, set up & sound checked before guests arrive!
Yes ,we provide a complete audio solution to your reception and also ceremony if desired. All MC & DJ services are provided. We provide wireless mics for toasts, prayers, and other announcements.
We use the latest technology in audio including wireless Ipad mixers to ensure that we are at the proper sound level for the venue. We check in multiple times throughout the evening to make sure you are comfortable with our sound level.
Our sets are customizable to your timeline. Common set times are 3 x 50 minutes or 4 x 45 minutes.
We do as long as this is prearranged beforehand. If you have a friend or family member who needs accompaniment at the ceremony, we have musicians for that also.
