“I grew up on a farm and really appreciated this setting. The owner is a master gardener and it shows, there are beautiful flowering trees, bushes and sunflowers that accent the outdoors. Some wedding guests had children and got to feed the livestock during the reception. They had baby goats, an alpaca and a donkey to mingle with. We had our wedding offsite and brought the reception here; if I had the opportunity to do it over I would have the wedding ceremony at their lakefront, it is beautiful and on peaceful lakefront”

“Alexis and the rest of the crew at the Stonewall Golf Club were crucial to making our wedding day as perfect as it was. For the purposes of this review, I'll be splitting my opinion into four categories: the price, the venue's location, the food, and the personnel/accommodations. The Price: While the facility's cost is slightly higher than at other venues, the results and quality of service cannot be denied. When you pay for this venue, you are not simply renting out the space: You are signing a contract that the venue and its team will strive to make your wedding/event exactly as you envisioned. Location: Stonewall Golf Club is a beautiful clubhouse located just off the golf course. It comes with a side restaurant that can be bought out for extra floor space and an outdoor seating area where you can hold the actual ceremony. The multiple ceiling fans ensure that even on hotter days, the guests underneath will be cooled off. Once our ceremony was over, we were guided by Alexis, the event coordinator, in a golf cart to a bridge by the lake, where we took some amazing pictures. Food: Stonewall Golf Club offers a wide array of food, all of which can be arranged for a tasting. My wife and I were hard-pressed to make a menu for the wedding, as all of the main dishes we tried were delicious. The venue also takes allergies of all kinds into consideration, including gluten. My uncle has Celiac disease, so gluten of any kind can make him sick. The venue accommodated this restriction by offering a wide range of gluten-free dinner options. They also allowed us to store our wedding cakes in their kitchen refrigerators on the wedding day. Personnel/Accommodations: I cannot give enough praise and kudos to Alexis and the rest of the crew at Stonewall Golf Course. From the serving staff to the kitchen staff to the bartenders, every single member of the team was courteous, friendly, and efficient. Our wedding day was only as perfect as it was because of their professionalism and hard work. We were even allowed to store decorations/props from the wedding day in the bridal suite to pick up the next day, since we were completely exhausted on the day of. I can think of no negative points to list for this venue. Communication from the staff, their hard work, and the accommodations they made for us ensured that the overall product/event went over without any hitches whatsoever. This place deserves your business, and I couldn't recommend it more.”

“Fawn Lake was the first venue we visited and after that, nothing else compared! We can not say enough about Jessica and her amazing staff! We were fortunate enough to work with them for over 2 years! Our original plan was to be married in June 2020, throughout the pandemic, Jessica kept in constant contact with us about updates a d supported us along the way. After our decision to postpone to June 2021, the team continued to stay in touch. Jessica and her team and are respectful, responsive and kind. Jessica is always welcoming as she celebrated with us as counts when down and Virginia opened up! She answered every minuscule question and walked us through every step of the way. With Fawn Lake, we never had a worry about our special day. They helped with with everything and took care of the entire day. We never had to fret! Just 20 minutes before our ceremony, it started to drizzle. Jessica offered 3 different back up plans before I could even blink. After a covid postponement, and a rain delay- Jessica and the staff at fawn lake made sure our special day was more amazing than we could ever dream! They stood by as it only rained for 17 minutes and switched from outdoors to in doors and back to outdoors without hesitation. We were truly blessed to find Fawn Lake! We are honestly sad that we don’t have an excuse to work with them anymore. They listen to every request, follow every direction and give amazing support and suggestions. Our guests are still raving about the organization and the food at our wedding! They are the best!”

“We absolutely loved having our wedding at Swan Point! Annita took her time to meet with us, really capture our vision for our wedding day, and brought it to life! We booked the intimate package- full ceremony, cocktail hour and catered reception. The venue had so much natural beauty- waterfront, beautifully landscaped with lovely flowers... our own decor was minimum. Swan Point already had much of the details for decor and atmosphere covered. Annita was very easy to coordinate things with- professional, great communication, and genuinely showed care and concern for us. If you're looking for an intimate small wedding but still want all the magic and beauty, then Swan Point is for you! Highly recommended!”

Riverside Weddings by Clore
Rating: 5.0 (3 reviews)
Fredericksburg, VA
  • Up to 130 guests
  • Starts at $4,500

Our goal is to provide a million dollar outside wedding site at an affordable price AND treat every bride like she is our own daughter. In the 1950’s thru the mid 1970’s the site was known as Motts Run Landing, which provided access to the Rappahannock River for families, boaters and fishermen by day and a local lovers lane by night. In 1979 Gene & Linda Clore purchased this 2 ½ acre slice of heaven and dedicated their lives to the fun and pleasure of those who wished to enjoy the Rappahannock and Rapidan rivers by canoe. Because of it’s natural beauty a friend of the family, in 1993, requested to have their wedding overlooking the river. Thus was the inception of Riverside Weddings. After a few years of one or two weddings per year with family and friends (and friends telling friends about our enchanting spot to get married) it was obvious that we had become “Riverside Weddings by Clore”

Venue considerations

  • No in-house catering options
  • No on-site bridal suite
  • Does not allow pets
“I could talk about how much I loved having our May 2025 wedding with the Clores for literal hours... and I have! From the first message to the end of the wedding weekend Gene and Linda were excited, helpful, communicative, and generally just "good peoples"! Through the process I felt just generally cared for which I feel like went a long way in how amazing I felt when the day came, it wasn't just a venue then, it was Gene and Linda's cabin. The feel of the cabin and grounds is so so perfect ... magical really - you know they put a lot of care, love, and expertise into it! It's a place you want to visit again (so tell your friends to get married there, too)! Our family and friends were in love with this place as much as we were. I truly cannot recommend it enough! If you are on the fence... reach out and make a visit... you'll see what I'm talking about!”
