Fred is a fixture on the Washington music scene for 25 years, is an experienced, successful and diverse cellist, who is dependable and easy to work with. He has mastered classical, jazz, rock, blues, Celtic and pop styles, and has delighted audiences all over the country. Locally, he has played the Kennedy Center, Wolf Trap, Birchmere, Ram’s Head, Blues Alley, Twins Lounge, and The State Theater, just to mention a few. He is a true cross over artist as a cellist. He has played numerous wedding parties, recitals and other gigs, both as a soloist, and with every possible music combination, from string quartets to jazz combos to rock bands.

Tim Thulson is a veteran of the DC freelance scene, in high demand as a cellist both at home and abroad. Tours have included Japan, England, Germany, and the Middle East. As an orchestral musician, Tim’s engagements include principal cello for DC’s unconducted Ars Nova Chamber Orchestra, as well as frequent appearances with the contemporary-focused Great Noise Ensemble. As a soloist, Tim premiered Iordanishvili’s “Character” for the Atlas Emerging Composer’s forum. But Tim’s key musical passion is for chamber music, and he has been privileged to perform and record with a variety of Washington’s best small ensembles.

THE HALL PROJECT has been years in the making. John Dixon Hall, Jr. has been playing in the Baltimore/DC music scene since he was 15 years old. His grandmother and his musical idol Stevie Wonder, were the catalyst for him to pick up the piano. His father, who was also an amazing drummer, exposed him to everything from Billy Joel to Ray Charles. Most recently, he has found a new love in New Orleans style piano. With the help of his good friends and GREAT musicians, Barry Sherard, Marcin “Samba” Otrebski and John Nichols, his vision has come to life in THE HALL PROJECT!

Quentin is an active composer, pianist, and music educator in the Washington DC area. He composes for piano and his jazz combo, blending memorable melodies and striking rhythms with adventurous improvisations. Quentin just released his new single, “Pipe Smoke”. Recorded with his trio, the song and improvisation captures Quentin’s dynamic writing and playing style. As music and jazz educator, Quentin spreads the joy of learning and playing music to individuals of all ages.

Chris Stiles is an international musician with over 20 years of experience performing in the US and Asia. Originally from Phoenix, AZ, he arrived on the Washington, DC music scene in early 2018 and has quickly become a valued member of the musical community. Through the years, he has had the privilege of performing with a number of renown artists, including the legendary r&b group The Temptations.

Currently hailing from our Nation’s Capital, Billy “T” Wilde is an American live performing, singer / songwriter. With just his guitar and thundering voice, Billy performs both a stripped down yet high energy one-man-band act, as well as a duo, Blues, Pop / Rock group along with his percussionist. He is part of a growing trend of looping artist’s that are able to use a looping pedal to layer musical harmonies to reproduce the sound, feel and energy of a full band

Christine is an active performer. As a soloist, she has performed in concerts at the Kennedy Center, Strathmore Hall, Dumbarton House, the Gallery at The Ellipse, and various Embassies in Washington, among other venues. Christine is an experienced educator. An alumna of the Inspired Teaching Institute, she teaches at Sidwell Friends School, and at Fillmore Arts Center in Washington, DC and is Washington Performing Arts teaching artist for the Capitol Strings program.

JB & THE SHOWMANCE BAND is a Jazz & Vintage Band covering all the classic music of a bygone era and bringing Old Hollywood back to life. The band exists to preserve the tradition of music from ages past. JB & THE SHOWMANCE BAND delights crowds big and small with timeless tunes and entertaining vocals sung and played by fresh-faced world class musicians The band exists in Los Angeles, NYC, and D.C. and is available to clients all over the world.

Guitarist Tyler first fell in love with the guitar at age twelve. Though he spent time teaching himself, Tyler has been fortunate to study with many of the best teachers available. His first teacher, Roger Farwell, taught him the importance of technique and posture, along with other concepts like sight-reading and music theory. After developing a solid foundation with Roger, Tyler began studying with Damon Foreman in order to pursue Jazz. While studying Jazz, Tyler has also been able to work with Jeff Antoniak; Steve Rochinski, head of Berklee’s harmony department; Kenny Rittenhouse; Mike Pope, and many others.

Sharif – who is currently earning his Masters at the Berklee College of Music – has made quite a name for himself on the touring front as well, vacillating from playing intimate solo acoustic shows of his original material to belting out cover tunes (from Rihanna’s “Disturbia” to Maroon 5’s “Won’t Go Home Without You” to Beastie Boys “Girls”) at biker bars to playing one of his favorite genres of music, oldies, at retirement centers (because he wants to, not because he has to) to corporate gigs for Gap and Amstel Light to opening for the likes of Jason Mraz, Kenny Loggins, Rhett Miller, Rusted Root, and Blake Shelton.

Illinois-born Ken is a study in contradictions: a guitarist who plays saxophone, a singer who writes instrumentals, a purveyor of restless sentimentality who continues to search for truths best found within. As a singer-songwriter now based in Washington DC, Ken has been gaining attention locally and regionally with his midwestern-accented musings, telling stories spun from a life spent moving from town to town. Fittingly, he plays 200+ shows a year – all over the DelMarVa region, the eastern seaboard, the midwest, and south.

What you don’t know about Frank is that he comes from a multi-generational line of musical and entertainment family members stretching back to his grandfather noted Puerto Rican guitarist Paco Sanchez. That heritage passed on through his children to Frank and his cousins and uncles who relocated to New York. Frank and his family moved from their home in the Bronx to the Washington area in the late ‘90’s. One of his cousin played a key role in developing the choreography seen in Michael Jackson’s Thriller. On his Mother’s side traditional Peruvian influences have played a huge role in his formation.

DJ Rich Barreto is a native of the Bronx, N.Y. Growing up in New York City and attending the exciting shows of legendary hip hop and house artists such as Grandmaster Flash, DJ Kool Herc, Afrika Bambaataa and Larry Levan during the 70s and 80s, inspired him to become a professional DJ and entertainer. After successfully working in the New York area for 15 years, he relocated to Washington, DC where he continues to be an in demand performer for clubs, weddings and corporate events.

Born in 1967, and raised on Long Island, Dave got into Rock music very young, and went on to play in bands all through high school and college. While attending American University Dave was deeply inspired by a jazz history class taught by the great Jazz Historian Rusty Hassan, and was bitten by the “ Jazz Bug “. Eventually he settled into the Washington D.C. jazz scene where he studied with guitarists Paul Bollenback and Paul Wingo. He also studied ear training with Asher Zlotnik.

Denver has performed in many capacities and venues such as the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, VCU, Shenandoah Conservatory, Randolph Macon College, and Maymont Park.Denver is an experienced teacher and has been teaching for over 7 years. She is the resident guitar teacher for the Music Therapy Department at Shenandoah Conservatory. Denver is currently offering Skype lessons and private lessons in the Winchester area.

Jason has performed either in the orchestra or on stage for over 50 musicals to date. Some of his past theater credits include “The Robber Bridegroom” (Harp Family Band), “Fiddler on the Roof!” (Fiddler), “I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change” (Violin) PA/VA, “Ring of Fire” (Seth) PA/FL/AZ, “Lost Highway” (Loudmouth Leon), “Glory Bea! A Shenandoah Christmas Story” (Zeke) and “Aida” (Nubian), “Man of La Mancha” (Juan/The Moor).

Washington DC-based vocalist Kevin Rose has been praised as “a performer with skill and confidence, not to mention a gorgeous, clear voice.” A versatile singer, Kevin can shift styles with ease from pop and jazz to musical theater and classical music. This is evidenced by his varied resume; in 2017 Kevin performed in the US tour of Dido and Aeneas with the Mark Morris Dance Group, and was also invited to bring his cabaret series “If Not Now, When?” to the historic Metropolitan Room in NYC. Kevin can be seen headlining a successful entertainment band that plays weddings and corporate events all over the DMV.

Carlos is an emerging cellist from the beautiful country Venezuela. Music has been a part of him since an early age. After receiving piano and solfege lessons for a couple of years, he quickly fell in love with the melodies of an instrument that he never imagined he could play, the cello. Enthusiastic and eager to be part of big music ensembles, he joined the Latin American Academy of Cello in his home country and was also awarded a spot in two of the most prominent symphony orchestras of his hometown.

Chris is a singer, songwriter, and guitar player from the Washington D.C. area, with over 20 years experience playing 2,000+ events during that time. Chris spent many years with the Lloyd Dobler Effect, now the Capital Effect, as well as performing solo, duo, and jazz shows in 37 states, and 13 countries.

Andy is the front/main singer in one of the hottest bands in Baltimore. Listening to him play and sing is an experience. He is so talented and his voice is like no other. His diverse palette draws from such genres as funk, folk, rock and pop, and has entertained audiences throughout the east coast. Andy Branigan has shared the stage with such acts as Patti Smith, Sam Sparrow and American Idol winner Phillip Phillips.

Keeping it simple and soulful, Brent combines rock, country, reggae and pop with improvisation to create memorable and refreshing music with heart and soul. Performing over 250 shows a year, this is a sound crafted on the road and in front of audiences in Washington, DC & nationwide .

Charlie Hodgson has been in love with music ever since he began teaching himself to play guitar at the age of 13. In the 20 years since then, he has found numerous outlets for his vocal and instrumental talents through an array of original and cover projects. From writing stripped-down acoustic originals to fronting a full-blown 90’s cover band, Charlie has found that each new project has allowed him to expand his vocal range and fine-tune his guitar skills.

Humbly inspired by the acoustic guitar-driven music of who he likes to call the Three J’s (Jack Johnson, Jason Mraz, and John Mayer) Ian Otto Collins brings a little bit of pop, a splash of jazz, and a whole lot of rhythm to his guitar playing and singing. No surprise here though, as he started off his musical career early a classically trained percussionist-eventually playing drum set in one of the state’s top high school big bands (Glenelg), while also holding it down on the tenor drums during marching/football season.

Cory is a singer, songwriter and guitarist who has been gigging in the DMV for many years. Mixing covers and originals, he sings and plays on his acoustic guitar performing at many local bars and venues.
