Her journey started at the age of six years old, Melissa-May was surrounded by all aspects of creativity. Her ability to visualize things, put them onto paper and create anything from scratch was also apparent at a young age when she completed an illustration of her dream house, then constructed an entire floor plan and a model house made out of popsicle sticks. Furthermore, at the age of 12, her friend’s mother noticed Melissa-May’s gift of artistry and requested that she create cartoon place cards for her daughter’s Bat Mitzvah. She later was asked to create the invitations and centerpieces for her best friend’s Debutant ball.

The Rustic Bunch stemmed from a love of colorful blooms, a dedicated gardener and the joy that a fresh bouquet brings. Located in Berks County, Pennsylvania, our commitment is to providing locally grown and the freshest imaginable flowers to our community. We will happily deliver within Berks County and the surrounding area. We also travel and have serviced weddings and events in Lehigh Valley, Lancaster/York, Philadelphia and the Poconos, even Delaware and NJ. We generally book 12-18 months in advance and only take a limited amount of work, so we don’t spread ourselves too thin and can give our undivided attention.

It began with my mother really. She loved flowers, especially peonies, and planted them wherever we lived. As a child, I could not understand her passion for gardening, but when I became an adult, I came to understand the deeper truths about the language and enduring wonder of flowers. My love for cultivating flowers and creating English gardens grew into a professional gardening business which led to creating floral designs for weddings. In an endeavor to be the best I could be for my couples, I sought training and have had the privilege of being mentored by some of the top designers in the country.

Aribella Events creates an intimate planning experience, offering comprehensive wedding and event planning, along with custom floral design, both in Philadelphia and available for travel - we needed a name that captured all of that romance, the adventure, the beauty, the connection we share when we celebrate all that life has to offer... and we found it when Tonia inherited this letter from her grandmother's great-grandmother: "My Dear Aribella," the letter begins, "I hope the time will come when we shall see each other face to face without the mediums of pen and ink..." This lovely piece of parchment, written in December 1815, with its faded ink and worn creases embodies the idea of a love that creates a Legacy in and of itself - the Legacy of a Love Story. Planning my own wedding in 2021 gave me an even deeper appreciation for the importance of receiving creative expertise and genuine support from wedding vendors.
