Built in the middle 1948 from timber on the property. This cabin is made from hand hued logs and hand mixed concrete for the foundation. In the early 60s Lyman Winfrey bought the cabin and moved his family from the city of Spirit Lake to the cabin. In 2008 the Winfrey family remodeled the cabin to add better heating, new flooring, and more. In 2020 the Winfrey’s made more updates to host the wedding of their daughter, updating the landscape and other amenities. We know you will fall in love with the quiet and calm ambience of the wooded property that has hosted some of our family's most special occasions and casual weekend retreats. The Lodge is a renovated barn that can accommodate guests and be the focal point for special events. The 20-acre property offers several possible ceremony sites including a ridge top viewing deck. Outdoor activities abound around the Retreat before and after your special occasion – we are trailside to the Whitefish Trail, which offers miles and miles of hiking and biking trails, right out the backdoor. Several small pristine lakes are close by for paddleboarding, swimming or fishing. The Retreat boasts a small wilderness frisbee disk golf course, pumptrack, skills area and some sweet singletrack so its a great place for family and friends to gather, hangout and celebrate.
