“Venue One Eleven was everything we envisioned and more. The food was AMAZING. We had so many compliments on the food. Highly recommend the salmon & short rib. The venue itself was so spacious & beautiful. It’s pre-decorated which made our lives so much easier and saved us a lot of money in the long run. The courtyard is filled with flowers & was a good place to step away from the dance floor for some fresh air. The stage was perfect for our band & made it feel like we were at a concert! We rented the townhouse about 10 steps across the road from the venue for our wedding parties. It was AMAZING to be so close to the venue for the entire weekend & it is decorated SO cute. It sleeps about 16 guests so our wedding parties didn’t have to worry about driving the night of the wedding & my bridesmaids & I used the top floor to get ready together the morning of. Our coordinator, Alisa, was the biggest blessing we could have asked for. That woman went above and beyond to make our lives as easy as possible. She has worked with many vendors in the area in the past so it made planning the day of timeline much easier for us! Wedding planning can be stressful & expensive, but Alisa managed every stressor & helped to save us money too. We trusted her completely & welcomed any & all of her advice.”

“Where to begin? Finding Katy was truly one of the biggest blessings of our wedding process. It was very important to find a photographer who we felt had, and actively displayed, the ability to photograph in an inclusive, respectful and honest manner. Once we found Katy, we were blown away by the love, care and diversity showcased in her portfolio. Upon meeting with her virtually, we were convinced that she was the right person. Katy is kind, understanding and VERY good at what she does. When it comes to the work, Katy was proactive without being pushy and really took to heart what we wanted out of our photos. Prior to our weekend, she had done an amazing job of giving us prep sheets and coordinating as much detail as possible so the big day could just glide. Katy and her second shooter Jen (who was amazing, too!) were professional, fun and didn't miss a moment of the day. Everything from planned photos to impromptu shots felt fun and natural. Getting back the album completely blew past our expectations. Every photo captured exactly what we had discussed with her. So many photographs left us speechless. Katy should be at the top of your list if you want great photos full of love, care, and magic. She is down to earth and was the only photographer we spoke to that didn't make us feel like we were just another gig for them.”

I’m Julia - people always ask me how long I’ve been a photographer for and the cliché (but true) answer is for forever. I’ve walked through many alleys that led me to photographing weddings. I worked for the Field Museum photographing meteorites during my college years in Chicago, then worked as a freelancer in the automotive industry when I moved back to Michigan, and worked in a studio photographing everything from seniors to pets. It wasn’t until 5 years ago I decided I loved photographing weddings and couples. I feel like they’re all connected somehow. I'm lucky I found my niche and even luckier that I got to run with it.

To future brides & grooms reading our review: If you are going to do anything right for your wedding day (besides marrying your best friend), hire Julia as your wedding photographer!!! We can not stress enough how much Julia impacted our wedding day. First, she has your back. She helped us keep calm and keep our timeline on track. Julia had a great sense of reading the room. She was by our side when we needed her. Second, we had a BLAST! Julia kept our energy UP (she's a Leo, if you know you know). She had both of us laughing, smiling, and overall happy. Even our bridal party and family LOVED Julia's professionalism and how she conducts group photos. My bridesmaids were obsessed with her and plan on using her in the future. She's seriously that good. Third, her photography style was exactly what we needed. She is super knowledgeable about poses, lighting, background, etc. She was honest and explained why she had us do certain pictures. She took into account any preferences we had (standing on the left side rather than the right, mobility concerns, etc). Also, be ready to get creative! After the trial, I decided I wanted a little more glam before the big day and she took my original trial look and escalated it to the exact glam I wanted on the big day. Also have to give her a little shoutout for keeping me calm because as soon as I sat in her chair on the big day, I really felt the bridal moment and got a bit emotional.
