You can always expect Janice to keep it real — a communication style you’ll be thankful for when dealing with budgets, wedding day mania, and drunk Uncle Ted.

My husband and I found Janice through her blog and were drawn to her transparency about an industry that can often feel opaque and hard to navigate. We met with two other potential planners, but we decided to follow our initial instinct and put our trust in Janice. She did not disappoint! Janice kept the entire planning process incredibly organized and did an amazing job of finding vendors that aligned with our (sometimes very specific) vision. Anytime we started to feel overwhelmed, Janice was ready with a detailed timeline, polite-but-firm reminder emails, and a very encouraging attitude. Janice was also very receptive and enthusiastic about helping us incorporate important cultural elements into our day that she had not had experience previously (ex. A Japanese kagami biraki ceremony). Most importantly, Janice was extremely reliable. For example, my bridesmaids and I were supposed to get our hair and make-up done at a hotel the morning of the wedding, but after we woke up to a power outage and alerted Janice, she immediately jumped into action arranging a new location and updating the beauty and photo teams about the change. She then raced over to the hotel to help me and my MOHs pack up my wedding dress, shoes, accessories, and bridesmaids gifts and convinced the concierge to let us use the emergency freight elevator so that we wouldn’t have to run down 15 flights of stairs. Her husband drove us all to the alternate location and, miraculously, all of the hair, make-up, group photos, and dressing were completed with a whopping 15 minutes to spare! Despite the early morning switch-up, the rest of the day went off without a hitch and we knew the wedding couldn’t have gone as smoothly as it did if it weren’t for Janice’s work (both in the planning and the day-of coordination). We are so glad to have hired Janice and 100% recommend Bellwether Events.

Words cannot define the worth and joy it was to have Kawania and her team be a part of my wedding day. She was a constant advocate for our needs and budget throughout the process, being realistic at every turn. What I know now is that what you get with Kawania is experience and know-how of the industry. She has planned several weddings and events before and knows how to troubleshoot mishaps that may happen on the wedding day in real time. She understands that the day of the event is a special moment for everyone involved and she knows not to bring stress to the wedding party and to allow them to live in the moment. At subsequent weddings, I have felt that my friends needed this approach with their planners on their wedding day/weekend. I, being their guest or in their bridal party felt the disorganization that their planners or self-planning brought. This was not the case with Kawania. We had glowing comments about our wedding day for even a year after and how it was not just a ceremony but a day of entertainment. She is an excellent communicator. We had regular meetings throughout the year, about once a week. I have seen my friends have wedding planners who do not get back to them for several days after they have a question about their wedding. Kawania brought my vendors to me instead of me having to look for vendors on my own and when one did not work she always had another one that could take the place. She set up meetings with me and my vendors one-on-one and reviewed all of our vendor contracts to make sure that we were getting a fair contract and that expectations for the vendor and for us were both reasonable and what we were looking for. Being a very busy working professional I appreciated that Kawania went above and beyond to make sure that I stayed on the schedule and was extremely patient when there were moments when I could not. I value how she brought my vision to life and had such great attention to small details that my day was exceptional. I have seen my guests feature elements of my wedding at their subsequent events and it speaks to how she was able to set the bar high for what a classy and unique event should be. Far beyond a wedding planner, she has become someone that I keep in contact with after the wedding. She even checked in on me when there was a major catastrophic event that took place in the area where I lived months after the wedding. There were even moments when I became uncertain or stressed and focused on the wrong thing when it came to my wedding. Kawania, quite like a mother figure helped me realize what my focus should be and to ignore all other distractions so that when I walked down the aisle, I was in full confidence of how the day was going to be and did not feel a single ounce of stress on my wedding day. I could not be more thrilled to work with Kawania again. Although I do not see myself getting remarried I would certainly work with her for any big event I needed in the future. She has such a positive energy and global about her and brings a light to every interaction even difficult ones that makes her pleasant, respectable, dependable, and all around the absolute reason why my big day went off such success. I cannot state how tirelessly she and her team worked so when I did meet them in person but felt like I was meeting friends who knew exactly what I wanted. Create You Events was the reason why our dream wedding became a reality!! My husband and I consider ourselves to be good planners, and like other couples, we thought we could make do without a wedding planner. We were only looking for a day-of coordinator when we reached out to Create You Events. We interviewed Vicky and realized the value she could provide us throughout the planning process. We quickly changed our stance and hired her as both our day-of coordinator and wedding planner. This was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. The amount of time and mental energy saved was beyond worth it. Vicky and her team's guidance kept us on schedule and organized during our nine-month timeline. Vicky was able to handle all obstacles in stride. No challenge was ever too big for her, and that calmed many of our nerves. What sets Vicky and her team apart is their ability to complement the areas that my husband and I lacked. We were transparent with those aspects which we weren't as prepared for and our budget constraints, and they would always found solutions or presented us with alternatives that met our needs. There were countless times when Vicky would save the day by bringing up things that we wouldn't even consider! She was great with vendor management and helped identify vendors that fit our criteria. In addition to Create You Events' planning and coordination service, we also opted for their decor services. What was the most dreaded part of planning for us was no longer a challenge. Trust me when I say they made all of our worries go away when it came to decor and signage. We were able to provide our vision and they delivered on every little detail. The arrangements and signage fit the elegance of our theme and venue perfectly. It was a huge benefit having a team that already understood our vision and was attentive to every request. Where do I begin for the day-of coordination? Vicky and her team were the calming force to our chaotic day. We wanted to maximize our day, so we planned our timeline down to the minute. From their planning, they set up our day so that we didn't have to make any major decisions. All we had to do was follow the timeline they put together for us. This allowed us to enjoy our day and appreciate the little moments we would have otherwise missed. Even when things that were out of our control went array, Vicky and her team didn't even flinch from the pressure and were quick to find a resolution, having no impact on our day. Simply put, we couldn't have had a perfect day without the involvement from Create You Events. The planning, decor, and coordination was stress free for us and allowed us to allocate our time to other areas that required more of our individual attention. Vicky and her team were incredibly easy to work with and we felt comfortable enough to share all of our circumstances with her. We will always give the highest recommendation to Create You Events to our friends and family for their wedding and/or any major event. We are still left in awe by how they were able to listen to our vision and run with it. We definitely won't miss wedding planning, but will miss our planning calls with Vicky. Just knowing we had the certainty and guidance from her made us feel like everything would be alright. Vicky, can we still have calls with you to help us plan the rest of our life? We booked Amanda for Month-Of Coordination and she was an absolute joy to work with! Amanda was polite, professional, prepared, and calm throughout all correspondence and day-of work. Amanda provided invaluable insight on our wedding day timeline and kindly circulated that to our full vendor team. During our venue walkthrough, she brought up so many details I hadn't even thought about, and made expert suggestions on how to address those details. I had a lot of decorative elements that were important to me, and Amanda executed that vision flawlessly. Amanda even has a collection of items available to borrow which came in great handy (easels, candles, cake stands, etc). We experienced some super last minute guest cancellations - I hesitated to text Amanda at midnight on the eve of our wedding, but she replied and addressed those changes expertly. After our wedding, Amanda worked quickly to pack up everything (it was a lot!!!), including items I neglected to make a plan for, like the bouquet and wedding cake - so grateful to Amanda for that!! I highly recommend Amanda as a courteous, organized, and professional wedding coordinator.

With her years of experience planning events and weddings of all sizes in the DMV area, she was able to introduce us to our beyond professional make up artist, cake designer, florist, and catering team. Natasha worked with Bianca for our wedding this past October, and let me just say this up front to any bride/groom: you may THINK you are type A and can handle any and every small detail in your wedding. You may THINK "how many decisions could I possibly need help with if I already have all of my vendors selected and every event for the weekend is in the same place? EASY." Welp, let me tell you folks--it is decidedly *not*. We had our wedding at the Intercontinental on the Wharf: all 3 wedding events throughout the weekend. I hired Natasha as some decisions were becoming mildly overwhelming and her prices were *chefs kiss*. When I say she and Bianca saved the day MULTIPLE times during our weekend, I am not overstating. She made every vendor organizational correspondence and handled all last minute questions they had--it was the best decision I made about the wedding (minus the groom, he's #1 ;)). Do yourself a favor as the price is MORE than absolutely worth the help and bliss Natasha will deliver you--BOOK.HER.IMMEDIATELY. Cynthia is the absolute best! She is a close friend, but she offered her services after I realized how much there goes into wedding planning without my fiancé at the time, as he's in the military. He was very much "Cynthia is my eyes and ears," and Cynthia kept him up to speed on experiences and other perspectives when it came to decisions. She was there when I picked out my wedding dress, helped find the wedding cake and rehearsal dinner venue, and helped create a vision board for my flowers and the decorations at the venue. I had gotten most of my vendors by the time I contacted her, but the last few were tricky, and Cynthia did the research to show me all the other viable options we could pick from. Cynthia will be there tooth and nail to comb through the contracts and make sure we were set with our deadlines. She was there to support and defend me with the vendors I did not have great experiences with and ensured everything went smoothly. I would recommend her to anyone having a significant event like a wedding, proposal, or shower, as Cynthia was able to do it all: planning, coordinating, budgeting, and all. Joseph and I couldn't have been able to accomplish all we did without her help, and we are so glad to be able to call her our friend.
