“Pleasant Pastures is a beautiful hidden gem in central Minnesota. Mindi, Samuel, and everyone else on the Pleasant Pastures team were an absolute joy to work with. When we first started planning our wedding, our biggest fear was finding a venue that would try to nickel and dime us throughout the process. Pleasant Pastures is the complete opposite of that. The services, amenities, and pricing were very clearly laid out, and we felt we received an incredible amount of value. Having access to their decorations and grain bin bar was invaluable and helped make our wedding feel truly special. From our experience, Mindi and Samuel were there for us every step of the way. They were always willing to answer questions, offer suggestions, and help with the little details that can become overwhelming when planning a wedding. Most importantly, we never felt like just another couple renting their venue. They genuinely cared about making our day special. The venue itself is absolutely beautiful, and our guests had nothing but great things to say about it. Looking back, choosing Pleasant Pastures was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. We cannot recommend Mindi, Samuel, and the entire Pleasant Pastures team enough. They went above and beyond for us, and we would choose Pleasant Pastures again in a heartbeat!”

In 1910, President Taft signed the bill to establish Glacier National Park as the country’s 10th national park. Mr. Healy was given a plumbing contractor for the train depot here in St. Paul, where he met Samuel Bartlett, the architect of many of the railroad depots and Glacier National Park Lodge. Healy then commissioned Bartlett to renovate and enlarge the house. In 1914, the farm was sold to John Healy, the owner of Healy Plumbing and Heating Company of St. Paul. Mr. Healy’s company became closely tied to the Great Northern Railroad, as it provided the heating and plumbing for many of the train depots that were being built around the country at that time. The farm was named Hope Glen Farm, the name of John Healy’s mother’s maiden name of Hope, and the house settles in a Glen, thus Hope Glen.

“We loved Hope Glen, my wife said it was way above and beyond what she had hope and dreamed for her wedding and all of our guests commented on how amazing the venue was! All the beautiful and differently decorated spaces were very functional and made our wedding flow effortlessly. We felt so blessed getting married in a super rain storm in the beautiful dinner hall. We also loved the tree house, it was such a magical place to spend our first night together. We loved the ambient worship music, we were worshipping together all night until we fell asleep. It was super special. Also Eryka was incredible. The bridal bliss package was absolutely worth every penny. I don't know how we could have got all that done on our own without her help, especially being out of state. We also highly recommend the horse carriage. The audible gasp of all our gusts was intoxicating as my beautiful bride arrived by horse carriage looking like a storybook princess.”

“The Refuge Golf Club is one of our favorite wedding venues to work with! With multiple ceremony location options, including a romantic indoor fireplace option for the colder months (or as a backup in the summer in the event of rain) you can guarantee your wedding will be gorgeous! We especially love to photograph at The Refuge because we always know that even in the event of less-than-ideal weather the large overhang of the roof on both sides of the club house will still allow us to get outdoor photos without having to step into the elements. You can guarantee that the wedding coordinators at The Refuge care about your big day and will put their all into making sure that your wedding runs smoothly. Christa and Lisa are attentive, professional, and always go above and beyond to ensure that your day is as perfect as you imagined. We love that there is so much opportunity for photos! If you are feeling adventurous and timing allows on your day, our studio is local, so we know lots of hidden gems for photography as well. You will not be disappointed with your Refuge wedding choice!”
