“When I was planning my wedding, I got a lot of opinions on how to cut costs and I heard often “skip a videographer”. I heard everything from “we never watched ours” to “I paid and big moments were missing” to “the selection of music is awkward and it ruins it”. I of course was slightly nervous when I decided to do a videographer, and reflecting on my experience, I have to conclude that all of those opinions were from couples who didn’t hire the right videographer. Along with my wedding planner, Katie from 97 films was actually my vendor who knew me the best. Having her and the team at my wedding actually relaxed me because it felt like my friend was just there to celebrate me and my now husband. I originally hired Katie and 97 Films because she offered something I have never heard of or seen before. A DAY OF video. So she literally shoots your wedding prep/ceremony and produces a film THAT SAME DAY. My husband and I had some older family members in attendance that we wanted to share our day with and wow did Katie deliver. I still do not understand how this came together so quickly. I had a lot of beautiful things at my wedding but our day of video was the surprise that kept coming up as a crowd favorite. Everyone was floored, I was floored, my husband was floored. My reaction was caught by my photographer (see attached) and it sums up exactly how I felt. We then got ANOTHER video of our wedding very quickly and it also made me cry ugly tears. The music, the shots, the moments that were included - everything is so perfect. The day flew by but I am able to relive the most important moments over and over again. There’s no “fluff” added to make a certain length video, both my videos are cohesive, romantic and custom. She really is a storyteller who just happens to also be skilled with a camera. Somehow even better than the actual talent was the experience and prep for the videos. Katie, my husband and I met to get some behind the scene footage and for her to learn more about us. Every meeting and interaction with her was so relaxed and we all ended up having lunch together because it felt so natural. Basically working with Katie is like lucking into having a best friend who also happens to be the best cinematographer. Coming into my wedding day I had no nerves, and didn’t feel the need to micromanage because I knew I’d be happy. My advice-don’t skip the videographer, but make sure you hire the right one. “TL;DR Hiring Abhishek and Aina Films was hands down the best decision we made while planning our wedding. Initially, we were on the fence about hiring a videographer at all. Looking back, hiring Abhishek and Aina Films should’ve been one of our top priorities. In the hierarchy of wedding decisions, I’d put it right up there with picking the venue itself; it was that important! Your wedding day flashes by in an instant; ours certainly did. In the craziness of that day there were so many amazing little details that would’ve been lost to time had they not been captured on film. We initially met with and reviewed the work of many different videographers but it quickly became apparent that Aina Films would be our preferred option. They had many great reviews and the demo video videos we watched were amazing. Outside technical competence what really sold us was his willingness to work on crafting a package that would fit our vision and our wedding day. Many of the other videographers seemed to want to want us to try to fit our day around what they provided in their pre-established packages. Due to our indecisive nature, it took a couple of weeks and many back-and-forths before we settled on what we wanted. Throughout this time, Abhishek was very patient with us. He made himself readily available for questions and was super personable and kind every time we reached out to him, which made the entire process easy and enjoyable. On the day of our wedding, he and his 2nd videographer arrived on time and started working with the photographer and the event planner without needing so much as a word from us. They were true professionals and it eased our minds knowing there was one less thing we needed to worry about. After the wedding we only had to wait a few days before we got to see some of the results. In that time, Abhishek had already edited and pieced together a few social media clips for us to post and man were those a hit! As soon as we posted them to our social media, we had people reaching out to us about how awesome the wedding looked and asking who created the clips. The final video we received is truly amazing; I cannot stress that enough. Abhishek and his team really did a fantastic job capturing all sorts of amazing memories from that day. Some of which we had missed or not been present for, others would have simply faded with time. Now and forevermore, I can go back and revisit our wedding in beautifully edited high-definition video. This is by FAR the best decision you could make for your wedding day or any event for that matter. Hiring this team is a choice that you will never regret. We decided last minute to have the wedding even if it was just going to be immediate family. Because no extended family or friends were allowed at the time we wanted a way to record the day as if they were there. I had posted I was looking for someone to shoot on a VHS camcorder and film the whole wedding start to finish with no breaks just like old family videos we had growing up. Steven not only was up for the challenge, but spent his whole day capturing every detail of our wedding. We got copies of both 4k and VHS which is so special and cool. We were so impressed and absolutely loved Steven that we have since used him for my Sister-In-Laws baby shower and my Father-In-Laws 70s birthday party. Birch Fields is like family now!”
