The Prelude

5.0

New Virginia, IA
  • Up to 165 guests
  • Raw space
  • Indoor & outdoor

A European wedding right here in Iowa | where the imagination finds its perfect companion in reality - The Prelude is a romantic dream from a vanished age. It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a person in want of a most romantic wedding must surely rejoice upon discovering such a place as this — a curious marvel, hidden among the cornfields and modest country roads of Iowa. Here stands an estate so charmingly out of place that one might believe, for a moment, they had awakened in the hills of Tuscany or the gardens of Provence. The venue itself bears a noble air, as though it had been plucked from the pages of some Continental romance and placed here by accident or divine whim. Guests arrive not with the stiff formality of town society, but with a glow of delight, as though they too have been momentarily transported to another world.

Why you'll love this venue

  • Provides setup and cleanup
  • Offers convenient lodging options
  • Picturesque garden backdrop

Venue considerations

  • No built-in audiovisual options
  • No all-inclusive dining options
  • Not for you if you are looking for something nontraditional
We hosted my son's wedding at the Prelude and the entire experience could not have gone better. The venue is breathtaking! The view from The Prelude makes one feel like they're enjoying a Tuscan Vista. It was a wonderful backdrop for their art deco inspired theme. Ashley and Nathanael are the most attentive, detail oriented, and helpful hosts. Once the family and wedding party arrived, everyone was able to relax and enjoy the experience as Ashley and Nathanael ensured everything went smoothly. I would recommend The Prelude to any couple, or anyone searching for a venue for their special event.

From the moment we inquired about hosting our wedding at La Belle Vie Venue, the staff was incredibly responsive, respectful, and polite in all of our communications. Their attention to detail and willingness to accommodate our needs, such as providing indoor parking to allow easy access for our elderly family members, made planning our special day a breeze. The venue itself is truly stunning and huge. It is unlike any other wedding space we have seen in Iowa. The family that owns La Belle Vie is flexible working with us to schedule multiple walkthroughs prior to the big day. Would recommend to everyone.
