With its stunning columns and classic styling, over 10,000 square feet of indoor space, and a gorgeous balcony with impressive views of the city, the Andrew Mellon Auditorium is a premier location for conferences, galas and receptions. The venue fee is $22,275 for under 599 guests, and $22,800 for 600-1000 guests, and that includes the building rental and support costs, as well as off-site scanning of your vendor vehicles, security for your load in/out and one set of front doors for guest entrance. When hosting at the Mellon, you will need to work with one of our approved vendors to supply all of your event needs (catering, rentals, décor, valet, ect.).

I have had the pleasure of working with the team at the Mellon professionally, so when it was time for my wedding I knew I would have a great experience in this space. The venue is one of the most gorgeous in DC -- the columns, balcony overlook, green rooms, and stage make this a really perfect venue for a wedding. We had our ceremony at a church, but if needed we could have held it in the two green rooms toward the rear of the building (look up photos, its gorg.) The venue itself just absorbs color, lighting and sound, so its easy to add some simple or even over the top decor to make this space fit for your vision. You can have a number of different floorplans and seating arrangements, so its uniquely versatile for such a large venue in DC The team was very easy to work with - the information that they have is very detailed, and they're happy to talk through the details, schedule walkthroughs, and answer questions as it relates to the contracts and requirements to host an event there. Since it is such a well oiled machine, the paperwork and details that the team shares is very straightforward and to the point, and they're always ready to help answer questions as it comes to suppliers, insurance, and general operations. They have vast experience with different suppliers, including caterers and wedding planners who are in the space all the time -- they really want to simplify the process -- which with this type of property can be quite challenging! The venue is absolutely gorgeous, and every single one of our guests were in awe of the size and scope of the space. Two things to remember - you'll have to get your dance floor through their team (which is easy because the install and dismantle is efficient) and the restrooms are on a separate level from the mail hall - but there are elevators and two beautiful staircases that make this not a big deal. We loved our day and wish we could relive it again!

I would recommend NRBeauty Co. to any bride to be. Nina is incredibly attentive and communicative in addition to being transparent about her pricing. Andrea and Andejla were my glam team, and I absolutely loved their work, as did the rest of my bridal party. The makeup and hair lasted for at least 12 hours (likely more). NRBeauty Co. was by far the most professional team I communicated with. I appreciated the portal Nina managed which included all communications, invoices, and glam guides. My bridal party also appreciated the Google form they submitted in advance of the day to share their inspo & desired looks! Nina also confirmed when the glam team was en route the day of the wedding, which was highly appreciated given how stressful the morning-of can be. To top it all off, they ran on time / ahead of schedule the day of the wedding!

I love how exciting and creative wedding photography can be while also giving me the opportunity to create something that is so meaningful to others. I got started with photography back in Michigan as a kid with my mom's old Minolta SLR. It wasn't until years later at art school in Kansas City that I realized how fulfilling and exciting wedding photography could be. It has been my focus ever since.

I highly HIGHLY recommend Asa! He and his colleague photographed our December '24 wedding and they did an AMAZING job. Asa has such a calming presence and on such a chaotic and stressful day it was so, so needed. He was so wonderful to work with in the planning and helped us make a thoughtful plan to ensure we got all of the photos we wanted. We had a traditional Catholic mass and he and his colleague were able to easily follow all of the Church's rules while capturing the essential moments flawlessly. We got every photo we wanted during the mass which was incredibly impressive. We also got shots at sunset by the water and Asa perfectly captured our vision! These are some of our favorite photos. He also captured all of the energy and fun that we had and we walked away with multiple photos of every single one of our guests which was such a treat. Lastly - his pricing is so fair and really competitive to all the photographers we got quotes from. He was easily able to work with our budget and was flexible to our specific needs. Overall - I would HIGHLY highly recommend Asa!

I also talk to most dogs and have been the proud mother to two Jindo dogs. I laugh EXACTLY like my two brothers, TRY eating vegan most of the time, LOVE yoga, and tear up EVERY time dads see’s the bride for the first time.

When I was looking for a hair and makeup artist, I wanted someone who I felt confident could help me decide the look for my wedding and come up with options for my naturally curly hair. However, I knew the deciding factor would be whether I felt confident that the artist could make every member of my bridal party that was diverse (in terms of race, disability, and LGBTQ) bridal party look and feel beautiful. Carla's portfolio showed me that she really lives her values of inclusion and I booked her with full confidence after our phone consultation the day after my inquiry. She gave me different options for the schedule for either just her or her and a team. I ended up going with the option of her and her team to not start so early and have a more efficient schedule. I was right to place my trust in her and the team she works with! I did a trial a couple weeks before my wedding, which I cannot recommend highly enough. It was definitely one of the most fun experiences of the entire wedding planning process! Carla spent a few hours with me trying different looks based on my inspiration photos and the vibe of my dress. I left so excited and knowing I had options I liked based on how I was feeling and the weather. On my wedding day she and her team were fantastic and executed flawlessly and made everyone comfortable on what was a hectic morning. My mother hadn't worn makeup since her wedding almost 40 years ago. My sister and maid of honor is also autistic with intellectual disabilities and had never worn makeup but wanted to be included (and look like a princess!) Carla and her team (special shoutout to makeup artist Mong!) were so patient and understanding and put them both at ease, which I appreciated so much. My other bridesmaids had a wonderful experience with makeup artist Nas as well. In terms of myself, I can say without question I've never felt more beautiful and glamorous but still myself than I did on my wedding day. Carla came with us to the church and fixed my veil that blew off during my first look and touched up everyone before we walked down the aisle. The look stayed the whole day and my hair held through the dip in our first dance into the after party. Going with Carla for hair and makeup was easily one of the best decisions I made in wedding planning and I cannot recommend her highly enough!

She encouraged us to choose what resonated with us, and was respectful and accepting of all our decisions. Rabbi Lia made our ceremony personal and meaningful. A veteran of DC's fine dining community, Oliver started Eat & Smile Catering in 2007 to help bring local sourcing and sustainable practices to DC's catered events. He strives to build every wedding menu specifically to the tastes of each couple blending their culinary heritage and tastes to make their menu as unique as their wedding.

Oh wow, finding a food vendor for our banquet hall wedding was the hardest part of planning! We had tastings with two other vendors and had reached out to probably 10 others before we got to speak with Oliver at Eat & Smile. The first two tastings were a disaster, and we were feeling despondent! But from the first conversation with Oliver, we had hope! His whole approach to fresh, farm-to-table food is refreshing and delightful. He tries to keep his business as green and sustainable as possible while also keeping taste and experience at the forefront. And he's really awesome to work with. He knows this industry inside and out and is so helpful when helping you understand how much of everything you need and what not to spend your money on and stuff like that. And the food...the food is impeccable. So delicious. And he tries to make sure that it tells your story. He wants to know if you have a favorite snack or spent a year abroad and liked a certain treat from that country. He'll work it in some way. It's amazing. He makes your menu personal to you as a couple, not just some bland chicken and overcooked steak. Our guests couldn't stop talking about how great the food was and how different our choices were (we offered pollo guisado, which is Dominican stewed chicken, with black beans and rice, or shrimp and cheesy grits for the two main dishes). I can't recommend Eat & Smile enough!!

All I knew was that I was marrying my fiancé and that Sam was going to be our photographer. I didn’t care about anything else except that he was our photographer. The engagement session was so much fun! The day of the wedding was unbelievable. He’s so calm and professional. He answered all of my questions throughout the process quickly without getting frustrated. Lastly, his work is is just AMAZING! Highly recommend if you love bright colorful unique photos.

Kelton from Marquee Artists was amazing! He was a communicative and active participant in the planning of the music and the announcements at my wedding on March 9. Kelton provided an extensive list of potential songs to play in a shared Google Document with columns for “play” and “do not play” which was great. Also, I was impressed that he attended the walk through of the Whittemore House a month prior to the wedding, asking pertinent questions of the Whittemore staff about the placement of various things and how best to provide the sound amplification that would be needed. He provided wireless mics which worked really well for the toasts. Kelton did a great job as the master of ceremony and his mix of the selected music was fun and fabulous. He had the crowd dancing, rocking to the music. Many of the older folks told me that they hadn’t danced in years but were having lots of fun doing so then. Having him on our wedding team instilled so much confidence in me, my daughter and new son-in-law, who is an amateur DJ. They were so taken by Kelton that, if possible, they would like to attend future events at which Kelton is the DJ!! I HIGHLY recommend him.

There are so many positive things I could say about this place that it’s hard for me to know where to start, so I’ll break it up into categories. VALUE: At this point, I’ve researched just about every wedding venue that exists in northern Virginia, so I can say that The Tower Club is one of a kind in offering an upscale wedding experience for a much lower price point than several of their competitors. You can save additional money by having your ceremony offsite, which is what we did. LOCATION: The Tower Club is located right by major highways and a metro station, and allows you to book a generously discounted room block with the Tysons Corner Marriott hotel, which is within walking distance of the venue. All these factors make this the perfect choice if you have lots of guests traveling from out of town. As for the venue itself, it’s absolutely stunning. Between the glass ceiling, huge windows, and wraparound balcony, you get tons of natural light, as well as a panoramic view of northern Virginia and DC. We even took our wedding photos here after our original location fell through, and they turned out gorgeously. FOOD: Again, the value of what you get for the price is excellent. All food is freshly prepared in The Tower Club’s onsite kitchen, and you cannot go wrong with any of their menu selections. The food here is so delicious that we had a very hard time deciding what to serve, and our guests raved about their meals. They are also very diligent about accommodating dietary restrictions and food allergies, which was especially important for me and my family. STAFF: Everyone I have interacted with through The Tower Club has demonstrated above and beyond customer service. Lindsay Rhoades worked with me every step of the way, from the very first tour to the final walkthrough. She is unfailingly friendly, knowledgeable, and easy to contact with questions and concerns, which alleviated so much stress on my end. She worked tirelessly to ensure that every single detail of my wedding was nothing less than perfect. Desirae, the manager in charge of my reception the day of, also did an excellent job ensuring that everything ran smoothly and attending to my husband’s and I’s every anticipated need. If you’re currently planning a smaller-sized wedding in the DC area, The Tower Club is, without a doubt, a must-see venue.

As owner and lead wedding planner, Janice has her hands on every Bellwether wedding. She’s a logistical virtuoso with crazy-high standards. She’s never met a detail she couldn’t wrangle or a problem she couldn’t solve. You can always expect Janice to keep it real — a communication style you’ll be thankful for when dealing with budgets, wedding day mania, and drunk Uncle Ted.

My husband and I found Janice through her blog and were drawn to her transparency about an industry that can often feel opaque and hard to navigate. We met with two other potential planners, but we decided to follow our initial instinct and put our trust in Janice. She did not disappoint! Janice kept the entire planning process incredibly organized and did an amazing job of finding vendors that aligned with our (sometimes very specific) vision. Anytime we started to feel overwhelmed, Janice was ready with a detailed timeline, polite-but-firm reminder emails, and a very encouraging attitude. Janice was also very receptive and enthusiastic about helping us incorporate important cultural elements into our day that she had not had experience previously (ex. A Japanese kagami biraki ceremony). Most importantly, Janice was extremely reliable. For example, my bridesmaids and I were supposed to get our hair and make-up done at a hotel the morning of the wedding, but after we woke up to a power outage and alerted Janice, she immediately jumped into action arranging a new location and updating the beauty and photo teams about the change. She then raced over to the hotel to help me and my MOHs pack up my wedding dress, shoes, accessories, and bridesmaids gifts and convinced the concierge to let us use the emergency freight elevator so that we wouldn’t have to run down 15 flights of stairs. Her husband drove us all to the alternate location and, miraculously, all of the hair, make-up, group photos, and dressing were completed with a whopping 15 minutes to spare! Despite the early morning switch-up, the rest of the day went off without a hitch and we knew the wedding couldn’t have gone as smoothly as it did if it weren’t for Janice’s work (both in the planning and the day-of coordination). We are so glad to have hired Janice and 100% recommend Bellwether Events.
