My foundation in floral design began on a small flower farm in Vermont over 10 years ago, where I immersed myself in the full lifecycle of the work—planting, harvesting, and arranging blooms directly from the field. That experience shaped my style: deeply seasonal, textural, and guided by an intuitive understanding of form and color. My aesthetic is loose and intentional, layered with luxurious texture and touched by a sense of intentional wildness. A steward of sustainable design, I avoid floral foam and plastics, and aim to use local materials wherever I can to have the lightest footprint on our planet possible.

Hi, I’m Kate, the heart behind Cold River Florals, the floral design studio rooted in a small flower farm in beautiful Bridgton, Maine. With a background in wedding photography for the past three years, I’ve developed a deep appreciation for the meaningful details that make a wedding day truly unforgettable. From seed to centerpiece, I grow many of the blooms I use—bringing a personal, seasonal, and locally-inspired touch to each arrangement. Believe it or not, we often have people ask if our pictures throughout our website are showing a mix of fresh and faux and…no they aren’t! Although fresh florals are pretty, we are totally in love with poser-blooms all the way here and that’s what we design 100% of our orders with.

I started my business in 2018, after I finished floral design classes from Cass School of Floral in Watertown, MA. I have had hands on experience from Floral Arts in Westford, MA and have completed over 75 weddings in my time as a floral designer. I have a little intern named Larry, a corgi-pit mix, who is the model for Little Blooms, who you will see a lot of on Instagram. I love using locally grown flowers as much as I can in my work, to really showcase 'farm to florist'.

We are two best friends, Sophie and Lauren, who turned our shared love of flowers into a true passion project! What started as creative fun has grown into a business rooted in trust, collaboration, and thoughtful design. We specialize in florals that feel joyful, personal, and inspired by nature. Jessica is a floral designer and event stylist born and raised in Southern New Hampshire. Like most passions in life, Jessica’s love for flowers and plants started at a young age. From making fairy houses out of rocks, branches, and moss in her backyard to planting her own garden with her grandmother each summer. During college Jessica had the opportunity to work for a few florists in her home town as well as her college town. It was there she realized what she grew up loving so much could become a career. After graduating from the University of New Hampshire in 2018, Jessica opened her first studio out of her home to pursue her passion.
