“My husband and I frequently find ourselves looking at each other and exclaiming, “we had the perfect wedding.” And we did, it was perfect in every way we could have imagined. I’m certain that we wouldn’t be able to say that if we hadn’t worked with MB Events. For context, I didn’t want a wedding. I wanted to elope because it would be easy and I just wanted to be married, but my husband encouraged me to consider an intimate wedding with our closest friends and family on his parents’ property. He also insisted on getting a wedding planner to make this as stress-free as possible for both of us. We talked to several wedding planners, but when we got off the phone with Marissa from MB Events, I immediately said “she’s the one.” Marissa was the only planner we talked to who asked about our story, our families, and our feelings right off the bat. She listened to us and gave us frank, honest advice about planning a “backyard wedding” (spoiler: it takes a village). I was truly starry-eyed while talking to her because she is the epitome of calm confidence. Now, this land needed some serious TLC… I remember when MB Events first came to look at the property, it was hard for any of us to imagine how we could turn it into our wedding venue, but Marissa saw through the wild overgrowth and created the loveliest vision that we never would have thought of without her help. It was the spark that motivated us to make this work. We didn’t really know what we wanted this wedding to look like, only some vague ideas: warm and whimsical, like a garden party with lots of light and color. We shared Pinterest boards with a wild mix of inspiration, and she was able to sift through all our ideas to nail down a theme that considered who we are as individuals and as a couple. Planning a wedding on family land requires a lot more thought and effort than a wedding at a venue. You need to consider things like bathroom trailers, weather protection, parking, and countless other things that were not even close to the front of our minds. MB Events thought of everything – this was clearly not their first rodeo. Marissa put together floor plans, mood boards, and schedules detailed down to the minute. She held our hands through every step of the process, kept in contact via call and text, and sent us reminders to be sure that nothing was forgotten. We took all her recommendations without question, including her vendor recs (which are top tier, btw), and I’m so glad we did. There are no words to adequately capture how incredible our wedding turned out to be. It all came together seamlessly, and we’ve been so humbled by the number of compliments we’ve received from our guests. But the best part for us was not having to worry about a single thing the entire wedding day. Knowing MB Events had everything handled gave us the peace of mind to be fully present (especially on the dance floor), and that is a gift that we will be forever grateful to them for. It’s priceless. At the end of the night, we exchanged tearful goodbyes; it feels like we’ve known them for ages instead of a year. It’s so obvious that they love what they do. Their love, care, and authenticity radiates. We cannot recommend MB Events enough; we can say confidently that our wedding day was the best day of our lives, and considering one of us didn’t want a wedding in the first place, we think that’s saying something. 10/10 would renew our vows just to do it all over again.”

We met Kate & Keith even before we were engaged at a destination wedding and immediately knew that when the time came for us to tie the knot, we wanted them capturing the big day—not only because of how beautiful their photos were, but because of how effortlessly they got along with the bride, groom, family, and entire wedding group as well. Kate & Keith will suggest a minimal change, like shifting your stance or turning your torso ever so slightly, which makes a huge difference and results in flawless photos. -And finally… Did you know Kate also doubles as a hair stylist? She will pull out a bobby pin and make sure your updo stays up! And did you know Keith is a mind reader? We thought we were having a private moment, just the two of us, during a walk on the beach on the morning of our wedding, but somehow Keith was inconspicuously there too, at the exact same location, at the exact same time, and captured one of our favorite photos on our wedding day. There are a million other reasons why we love Kate & Keith… but unfortunately we are nearing our word limit. It has been fun to watch the short film with friends, and to be able to see all of the different parts of the day in the full feature film together, and with close family. “When we were booking vendors, I wanted wedding professionals. I wanted people who knew the industry inside and out because we were DIY-ing our wedding and without a planner. When you book someone for your wedding, youre not just booking their service- youre booking their industry knowledge and Magnus has a LOT of knowledge and such a big heart. My example of this is within 4 hours of submitting an initial inquiry, we had an email with a scheduled time to call to chat about his services and our wedding plans to see if they matched. What really got our hearts though was before we agreed to work together, he helped me fine tune the schedule I had in my head for the wedding day. He helped us with our timeline not because he was trying to “sell” us on him, and he didnt say “if we work together I’ll help you with the timeline” which would have been perfect acceptable. He helped me because he cares about weddings and wanted to make sure regardless of who we went with for a DJ that we had a good foundation. After that call, I told Collin I wanted Magnus on our wedding team and we didnt need to even consider anyone else and let me tell you - that was one of the best decisions we made. Throughout the process he gave great ideas based on his experience not only for the party (DO THE 10-15 MINUTE DANCE PARTY!!!) but on other aspects of our wedding as well. You’re not just working with an “oh you got a *DJ* DJ!!”as my friend so excitedly said after the music started, you’re working with a professional big hearted person with years of experience who is here to help you have the best time. Our day was truly the best and Magnus was a huge part of that. Once the music started, our dance floor was packed and stayed packed to the bitter end! We hired them to do music through our ceremony, perform at cocktail hour, and perform for our reception. They surpassed any expectations I may have had for our wedding. So many of our guests asked me how I found them, and were so floored by their performance that they wanted their business card.
