We recently celebrated our wedding at Basil Place, and it was nothing short of magical! The venue is absolutely breathtaking, with the stunning pond and foliage and elegant indoor spaces that created the perfect ambiance for our special day. What truly made Basil Place wonderful was the owner, Michelle. She was always there to answer questions and provide recommendations for other vendors. Her warmth and generosity made us feel special. I have to first start this review by speaking about Maggie. When we decided to book a month/day of coordinator I’m not sure what we expected but Maggie was above and beyond anything we imagined. She was kind, so organized, and did so many behind the scenes things that I’m genuinely touched by her attention to detail and her effort on our wedding day. My husband and I felt like we were able to truly be present with our loved ones on our day because of Maggie and the Harper team, which was so important to us. She made our wedding vision come to life and I was blown away seeing everything put together that we planned for over a year. I knew after the first conversation my husband and I had with Maggie that she would be on top of everything on the big day and handle any issues that could arise. For as much as you plan, things pop up and you’re going to want to go with a person who can handle things with grace. That’s Maggie and the Harper team. As someone who wasn’t sure if a day of coordinator was necessary, after booking with Maggie - that decision was the best one we made. Every venue would be so lucky to have their own Maggie. About the Harper Event Venue itself- If lived in PA I would be annoyingly recommending them to my neighbors but the next best thing I can do is write this review and say that as an out of town bride I am beyond thankful we booked The Harper for our wedding. It was our dream venue, it has a beautiful outdoor area where we had the ceremony facing the pond and our pictures turned our gorgeous with the modern farmhouse style of the venue. We loved that it’s a “blank canvas” inside that we could create our own style which made the planning process more fun. Our guests were blown away by the venue, and I’m so happy we got married at The Harper. If you’re considering The Harper, don’t wait- book this venue asap! I wish we lived in PA so we could attend more weddings there!
